Sorry, I don't buy it. He had too many classic signs of psychopathy, including the ability to put a very convincing act of being an empathetic, loving person. This goes well beyond clumsily faking it, and his facility with it is something learned so early in life that it is practically hard-wired into his brain and not something chosen to hide his vulnerability. Aside from that, she should have slapped his face off the front of his head when he stomped into her bedroom and started going through her closet while insulting her looks. The women in my family wouldn't have put up with that for a second. Of course, if I found out about it, I would have spent a couple of hours trying to push his face forcefully through a patch of concrete sidewalk.

In the latest crop of 3 Harlequins, the first 2 are populated by asshole MLs that are toxic enough to almost make me ashamed of being born male. Misogynists are disgusting trash, not romantic heartthrobs. Anyone who believes otherwise needs a therapist.

If I had acted that way to a young lady, my own father probably would have kicked my butt all around the house. After about 20 pages, I decided to quit reading. If that scumbag didn’t die from being sat on by an incontinent hippopotamus, it would be impossible for this story to have a happy ending.

Wow, it only took just over 2 chapters for the ML to sexually assault her all while she’s saying no. What a sensitive lover, I don’t think. I guess this is another story about how sexy and wonderful men who don’t respect women are. Pardon me while I regurgitate.

"I only want revenge because I love you." Am I the only person who thinks this ML belongs in an institution for the insane? What on earth is with these pride-filled, sociopathic, revenge-obsessed male leads? Is this supposed to be sexy? Why don't these authors just make a "romantic" story about a gangster making snuff films who turns into a loving husband and father. It's just as likely and takes about the same amount of writing talent. This has to be a contender for worst harlequin ever.

Apologies to the author, but I am completely unable to read any more of this. Ms. Graham has the ability to create the most disgusting of fictional male characters. If the word “irredeemable” wasn’t already in the dictionary, it would have to be coined for the sole purpose of providing an adjective for her MLs.

The ML was a pile of excreta. He was nothing less than a supercilious f*&^boy who despised women just because his parents divorced, boo hoo hoo. His father was a doting idiot, too. He was so worried about the FL, who he supposedly loved like a daughter. Five minutes later he's soooo proud of his son for facing down the board of directors just after kicking the FL to the curb. To finish off the crappy people in her life, her disgusting brother should have been left to the fate that he had chosen for himself. He was lower than pond scum.

This is supposed to be romance? The ML is more like men Selva Almada wrote about in her book “Chicas Muertas.” I decided not to read any further since this is obviously going to be another story about redeeming the irredeemable. It was a lousy trope to begin with and has just gotten worse every time.
