He was a complete a**hole. He kept saying to himself that he wanted to protect her, but all he did was try to drag her into bed 24 and 7. The idiot had all the patience of a customer at a brothel who has already paid his money and made his choice. He also couldn't understand the word no if the letters were 12 inches high, chiseled in stone and shoved down his throat. Old gramps was pretty much a senile moron. I love my granddaughter, so I'll hold a big party peopled with a bunch of folks who either hate her guts or are tawdry gossips and then go to bed and leave her to the hyenas. I couldn't find it in my heart to be overly angry with ML's mother or aunt, though. Both of them, like the FL, were the victims of the selfishness and lack of discipline of the male members of the family. Perhaps a better title for the story would be "The Trouble with Testosterone." I know that it's not original (it was the title of a serious book) but it seems pretty appropriate.

The ducal family were a pack of idiots. The sister was the only one worth the powder to blow her up. The rest were a combination of weak, mean spirited, unfaithful, and stupid.

The FL needs to cut all these people out of her life like a malignant tumor. They are irredeemable.

Every person in the story, with the exception of the FL and her friend and partner should have died in a ditch in pain and want.

FL's family were all filth. ML was the worst of all, because he knew better, and as a doctor, he was ready to abandon the Hippocratic oath over unfounded hatred of the FL. He should have been run over by a porta-john cleaning truck.

They all sucked. Couldn’t even finish it.

Well, he was a piece of work. Undoubtedly forgot to take his meds and the bipolar kicked in with a vengeance.
