Whatever it was between his ears would probably do wonders for fertilizing the gardens. The family sure has a lot of class, to be willing to marry a piece of work that only wants to destroy her brother's business, not to mention that they happily kick their father's bastards out into the cold. And all this to further fill their already obviously overstuffed money coffers. The whole bunch should fall over and turn blue.

Wow! What a collection of scumbags. And why is it that anyone in an Harlequin who plans to write a will, immediately starts suffering from acute and chronic dementia and writes a will demanding huge sacrifices from their “beloved” heirs? Does anyone other than me think they were actually malevolent, manipulative sadists? It was a lousy trope to start with and it’s been done to death. Come on, authors: come up with something even remotely original.

Amazing! It’s written by Michelle Reid and it’s chock full of toxic scumbags. The ML suffered somewhat, I suppose, but nevertheless my opinion of him is probably not fit for print. Let’s just say that he was abysmally stupid and naïve as well as being a total schmuck. He finds out that she was lied to, abandoned, threatened, and treated like crap, so he immediately manipulates her into situations where she has no choice but to do his bidding. NOT very savory conduct.

The ML was a total scumbag and misogynistic a**hole and the substance between his ears came out of the south end of a northbound pig. He had no judgment, was as close to being a rapist as made no difference, and blurted out any fetid thought from his brain as though he had chronic Tourette's Syndrome. Her father and step-mother were pushy, overbearing buttinskies, and his grandmother was a lying manipulator whose schemes were more likely to hurt people than help. They were all toxic in their own way, and the FL was an idiot for not moving to the other side of the world the minute she attained her majority.

My, my. "Everyone (my stepfather in one case, and parents in the other) was cruel to me, so I will ruin innocent people's lives and never say a kind word. I'll do everything I can to make them feel even worse than me. Uh oh, I'm getting sick, I'd better do the big boo hoo so everyone I ruined will feel sorry for me." Screw that! Some of the best and kindest people I've known had ghastly childhoods and horrid parents.

"I believed every word the prosecution said because I was jealous of you being with my dead brother." Dude, you need therapy; and the proper method is for you to be chained to the wall and have the stupidity beaten out of you, preferably for the same amount of time that the girl was in prison.

Best ending: Charter a luxury 747; all characters have a huge orgy; pilot joins in but forgets to set auto pilot; they all crash into the ground at 400 mph.

Gawd! What a dumpster fire. His father should drown in a cesspool. Also, the plot was totally convoluted and made no more sense than the lyrics to MacArthur Park.

I could have enjoyed the story if the ML hadn't been fixated on revenge from the beginning. Sorry, but big boo hoos from childhood don't ever excuse revenge against the innocent. That's the kind of sick mindset that leads to babies and toddlers being sent to the guillotine. And where does this other mindset of "if I boink her once, I can forget her and get on with my life" come from? When I think of it, it sounds rather infantile and totally stupid. It makes me think that an awful lot of Harlequin MLs are incapable of growing up!

What a set of filthy excuses for humans. The ML was nothing but a blackmailing, misogynistic sexual assaulter, who was deliberately targeting the little girls to take revenge on their mother. Except for the little girls, I didn't see a redeeming thing about any of them, and even they fell into the ML's trap of turning them against their mother.
