Since when is blackmail and revenge for bruised pride sexy? I'm sorry to disagree with all those who think this is a love story, but I see the ML as nothing more than a nasty piece of work. He won everything business-wise against the evil stepfather, but still wanted to destroy her completely.

I rather liked the FL, although she should have dumped him, but the only thing that could make the ML tolerable is a fatal encounter with Lucha Libre.

Torture her for years. One "I'm sorry" and all is sweetness and light. Barf, Barf, and Barf again!!!

Another "romantic" rapist. About halfway through, I felt as though I would go postal if I read any more. The ML would have made a great hit as one of Sadaam Hussein's family members.

It was "meh" until he started trying to rape her. Then it became utterly disgusting.

The ML was a self-righteous sexual abuser. I won't say he was a rapist, but it was close. In all their dealings, he either treated her like a criminal or like a sex object (or, more succinctly, like a sperm receptacle). As to the rest of this "aristocratic dynasty," all of the males seemed to be toxic, misogynistic alpha-holes, except for Joss, who was the only ray of light in that foul broth of testosterone ridden scumbags.

Only read about 20 pages, but I'll be damned if I finish this. Any man who takes revenge on a woman for what someone in her family did is the kind of man that I could hang while feeling absolutely no remorse. I don't give a damn what his sob story is, nothing excuses that.

My God that was bad! The ML was a pile of excreta, and was so toxic that his “love” for his son was impossible to reconcile with the rest of his character. He was also so close to being a rapist that the distinction was almost nonexistent. I do wish that more of these authors would make characters that are believable. This schtick of making the ML an unforgivable, hate-filled psychopath then turning him into the kindest, most loving person imaginable is ludicrous and psychologically impossible. And the fact that the FL always loves him unconditionally when he’s treating her like garbage 24 and 7 gives me a very strange idea of how the author perceives her own gender.

What an entitled, arrogant pig! Loved her - he can fall over and turn blue and I won't bother to call the paramedics.

Liked her and her son a lot. The ML and his douchebag father can go to hell on greased skids. As Ninie said she doesn't need that a**hole in her life. As to the father's excuse that there were "so many women claiming they were pregnant by his 20 year old son," there are several scenarios: 1. Sonny-boy couldn't keep it in his pants and boffed every girl he could get his hands on. 2. Their home town had an unbelievably high percentage of gutsy teenage girls who were chronic liars with no sense of shame or fear of consequences. 3. Daddy dearest was a misogynistic, authoritarian asshole who likes threatening helpless young girls. Option 2 can be thrown out because it is so unlikely that the only people who would believe it without concrete proof would be the Tinfoil Hat Brigade. Both options 1 and 3 are quite likely as number 1 would be the only way that more than one girl would be knocking on the door with a claim of pregnancy, and number 3 is pretty self evident by what big Daddy said. He threatened an underage girl personally. It wasn't a calm statement that he would turn it over to the police, it was "what I will do to YOU!" To use one of my favourite words when speaking of Harlequin male characters, he was irredeemable. If that's a "Noble Family," I'll be proud of my peasant status.
