Talk about a dumpster fire looking for a place to happen! With the amount of therapy the three main "characters" (a.k.a. idiots) need, their psychologist could make enough money to retire early and live on the French Riviera.

Uh... just No. That was a dumpster fire. The second star was only for Tasmin, the only character in the story worth a damn.

Ah the terrible trials and tribulations of being born filthy rich and brought up in high society. The only things that can bring me solace are my Gucci Boots of Pure Angst and my Savile Row Suit of Shattered Dreams. Even Bollinger Cuvée Annee 96 fails to raise my spirits.

This was a farce. If an author is going to write about another culture, they should do even a little bit of research. Also, having something approaching a coherent plot would help.

God Almighty, that was bad. He pretty much forces her to marry him, then his reaction is to abandon her alone when anything goes wrong. It seems that the only way he can communicate with her is through sex and his desire to get her pregnant. And, for the Lord's Sake Harlequin authors, quit using the trope of "The Kiss" to make a woman forget all her critical faculties and values and turn into a mindless, sexually responsive airhead. It's an insult to all women, besides being stupid to the point of imbecility. It’s almost like the author wants them to become Stepford Wives.

My, my. "Everyone (my stepfather in one case, and parents in the other) was cruel to me, so I will ruin innocent people's lives and never say a kind word. I'll do everything I can to make them feel even worse than me. Uh oh, I'm getting sick, I'd better do the big boo hoo so everyone I ruined will feel sorry for me." Screw that! Some of the best and kindest people I've known had ghastly childhoods and horrid parents.

If a western writer wants to write about another culture in a novel, learn about it before you either fetishize or demonize that culture. To write judgmentally and ignorantly at the same time shows, not just that ignorance, but also somewhat bigoted prejudice. To someone from that culture or someone familiar with the culture, reactions to the writing can range from hilarity to derision to being mortally insulted.

Couldn't even finish it. Both males, ML and ex, were so disgusting it was incredible. The filth ML was worse, because I knew that this vicious, blackmailing, near rapist was going to be redeemed as the most wonderful and loving human being of all time. Screw that! He should have been run over by a carload of drunken teenagers and spent the rest of his life in a hospital bed having his diaper changed by a villainess from a Stephen King thriller.
