AN INNOCENT MAID FOR THE DUKE
A real breath of fresh air after the plethora of stereotypical toxic, entitled playboys and near rapists and women who immediately lose their minds, morals, and clothes after one whiff of the playboy’s pheromones. This had cute characters, a clever and imaginative plot, and was fun to read.
Emerald Mistress 2
I actually enjoyed this story. I'm not a fan of Lynne Graham, but when Tomoko Takakura turns an Harlequin into a manga, not only is the art great, but the story seems to improve as well. It's amazing how the mangaka can make or break the bad and the good stories.
The Marakaios Baby [The Marakaios Brides 2]
I really liked Leonidas' character. He was angry and upset when she dumped him, but he didn't go down the usual Harlequin ML route of immediately devising elaborate revenge schemes aimed at publicly humiliating her and destroying her life permanently. When she came to him, he was prepared to tell her off in the same fashion that she dumped him, but seeing her sadness and pain, he promptly forgot about that and did his best for her. The fact that he didn't have that "boo hoo, my pride has been hurt and I must make someone pay" syndrome puts him in the top level of Harlequin MLs. I also enjoyed there being no toxic family/friends to try and destroy their relationship. I do get awfully tired of that trope. Way to go, Kate!"
Husband For Real
Surprisingly good. The ML was definitely a class act. None of this "Boo hoo, my manly pride is shattered and my testosterone levels are dropping. I need revenge!" Riho Sachimi always seems to do a good job with the story, as well as being an incredible artist.
The Baby Bond
Really enjoyed it. Good story and ML wasn’t a cad or some other form of scumbag. Love Marito Ai’s artwork as well.
