I have unanswered questions but this is nonetheless an incredibly illustrated horror manga worth reading. The mc isn't particularly likable but I didn't dislike him and I found his downfall somewhat tragic. I recommend giving it a chance if you appreciate grisly detailed artwork and twisted storytelling.

Murcielago

Ongoing | YOSHIMURA Kana | 2000 released

I really love this manga because horror/slasher lesbians rock but then Kuroko started being weird with child characters and it honestly ruined everything but for the most part it was awesome

Uzumaki

Complete | Itou Junji | 1998 released

Akira

Complete | Otomo | 1982 released

It gave me severe depression but I absolutely love this manga and its iconic animated film. Be warned for disturbing visuals and gore

Houseki no Kuni

Ongoing | Haruko Ichikawa | 2000 released

//SPOILERS This story gets darker every chapter and I live for it. Phos has one of the best (and most twisted) character developments ever, from being one of the cutest and fragile gems to becoming an unstoppable Eldritch abomination. It's tragic yet glorious. 10/10 would cry again. Here's to a pleasant 10,000 years

Misu Misou

Complete | Oshikiri Rensuke | 2000 released

I know people say the gore is edgy and exaggerated and I'd have to agree, but this is one of the saddest manga I've ever read. when Nozaki is thinking of Shouko in the last chapter it really had me crying. I just wish it had a happier ending, it's so tragic : ( Great horror/tragedy though, and I love the art style
