Tabun Korekara Ai no Hibi

Ongoing | Ayu ikemori | 2019 released

this made my heart smile. I get how the mc feels. when hope is lost every bad thing just keeps building up and it’s hard to see the path ahead. it’s like a never ending brick wall is in front of you. I am happy he found his passion again. it’s not about relying on someone for happiness, it’s about having someone to be there for you and remind you of the good. the twins were also cute and I like how the ex-wife automatically knew the feeling the seme held. I enjoyed how the relationship developed and also how it was relatable. it’s been a bit since I read something that made me feel less alone. this was lovely and I liked the honesty and communication. the patience the seme had, along with the love and endless support was amazing to read. it’s not always 50/50 sometimes one has to carry more weight and that’s okay.

SMILE

Complete | Penguin Frontier | 2000 released

beautiful work of art. with great details and realism. but it’s sad. to be treated so poorly. to be judged for loving someone. to me being loved by someone is the greatest gift and to feel bad about receiving a beautiful gift because the world is cruel breaks my heart. it hurts to watch your family abandon you when you need them most. I get it’s not easy for the parents but i will never understand why it is a struggle for a parent to love their child unconditionally. I cried cause it was sad. I was outed and after all these years I will never forget the disgust in my father's eyes. when the mother said it was disgusting i felt my eyes fill with tears. my father turned his back on me. “how could my own flesh and blood” he said. as if he was the one being turned away. as if he was the one praying to be different. even if a story ends happily it doesn’t mean the struggles and pain along the way were not heartbreaking. in the end they lost everything besides each other. it should never be a crime to love someone. a great story and i’m so happy I came across it.

Te wo Nobashitara, Tsubasa

chapter 1 has roped me in. the art style is beautiful. I like birds as well. the tattoo is beautiful and well-detailed. I can’t tell if ml is a stalker or not but he seems genuine so i’m excited to see how this goes. update - it’s hard to find words to describe how beautiful this story is. the fight with the stalker was greatly detailed and I was truly scared for their safety. I quickly grew to love them. as i’m writing this I have tears in my eyes. this covers struggles, growth, pain, loss, heartache, and the feeling of the world against you. I knew this would be lovely but the plot was anything but predictable. every sentence of Satomi's past made my heart clench - the tattoo which looks beautiful holds a great pain no one can see. Satomi's struggles to hide the tattoo were much deeper than I thought - I realized that from the ending comment. he spent so much time in fight mode unable to truly breathe, unable to feel safe. this is one of the rare occasions where the seme is truly caring and in love, and the uke is truly brilliant (I can’t stand when they are dumb and get pushed around) and communicative (shared his feelings and thoughts). 5.5 chapters of a beautiful story that brought smiles and pain to me. I am so happy their communication was good - communication and respect are key to a healthy relationship. I’m happy they're happy. I’m happy that although the future is unknown I can say that if their story was to continue they would be together - happily - till death. I have always believed the greatest gift in life is to be loved by someone and this story is an example of why. I could probably write an essay longer than the manga itself on why I enjoyed this so much. I rarely get this immersed in emotions from a story. it’s unfortunate, people turned away without finding out why he had the photos. I think the author did wonderfully at explaining and connecting the plot. Satomi had no desire to cause harm to Chikara - Chikara just happened to be the light in his dark and lonely world.
