i've lost faith to my fellow youth, but remembering this national hero, it makes me wonder why it has come to this and if we really deserved that freedom. sure, there's not a single perfect country with an equally perfect government in this world, but Ph has too much bad grasses to pluck—most of them sitting up there as of this moment, thinking of their own wealth and desires first despite pledging to serve the country first. even so, how can my people be assured that the next to sit above would be any different? now, i'll change the topic a bit. i know many people will hate what i'll say next, but i honestly think we didn't deserve to be freed yet. nonetheless, we didn't deserve the unequal treatment and injustices from them colonizers. if you've read Rizal's second novel, you'd see my point. i remember there was a line there that asks this: "if the people have no sufficient vigor to proclaim their rights, and if they feel ashamed inside but keep silent outside, even sometimes join the oppressors in mocking the oppressed, why give them independence?" i cease my rants here. now back to horny jail i go.
