Roureville
This was incredibly good, given the confusing first chapters. (Later on it all makes sense in retrospect, but I think the information could have been presented in a more cohesive fashion.) It's on my must-read list and received a rare 5* from me for its unexpectedly deep portrayal of hidden pain, and how healthy relationships can teach us to live more beautiful lives. The primary theme for all the characters seemed to be "create a fresh start in your life".
Occupation To Beloved
Best read as a series -- Student's story 1: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/doukyuusei_nakamura_asumiko/ Student's story 2: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/sotsugyousei/ Teacher's story (the best!) 3: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/sora_to_hara/
Sotsugyousei
Sweet development, and much better read a series. I prefer the professor's story, but these two are useful for context. This is a nice read. Rokugatsu no Hengen-san
Interesting combination of an extremely shy, art-obsessed boy with a mature, calm, non-communicative partner. I'm looking forward to the development of the relationship between these roommates in the sequel: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/shichigatsu_no_kousaten/ (I'm perplexed by the random sex scenes without context. The story would be better without them, IMO.)
Hana no Mizo Shiru
This story is memorable and sweet. I love how the main character gradually learns about his new friend, then honestly supports and cares for him as he heals from a damaging relationship. I love how good they are together, too.
Ikumen After
I absolutely love the friendship between the fathers and how the author showed their different thoughts. It really shows how they must learn to communicate and be honest to get closer to each other. And, let's face it, those guys are both wonderful fathers. The boys are adorable! The whole story frames what it means to be "family" in a beautiful way.
Bikkuri Suru Hodo Doji Na Koi
Ch 1-3: A seriously clumsy relationship between a scatterbrained boy with an intensely one-track-mind and his childhood friend. 2* for the overdone character. | Ch 4-5: He enjoys teasing his adorable room mate who is in love with him. 3* for his kindness and honesty at the end.
