He Is Beautiful
It's cute and sweet and doesn't have any gay panic! I just wish the art wasn't so stiff. It's looser and fits better when scenes have a comedic tone, but the serious and romantic scenes all pretty much feel the same, and have an awkward posed look.
Tie Me, Unravel Me, Kiss Me
Yakuza shenanigans with stabbing and an almost-love triangle and STILL a happy ending? We love to see it! Four stars, easy.
Far from Romance
Not much to say about this one, oddly. It was good! Unusual color pallette, not *quite* monochrome. Beautiful artwork, and very current for when it was originally published. One of the characters cosplays as Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, lol.
Kodoku Na Taka Wa Hitokoishikute
Meh, this was all over the place. The drama of Hotaka wanting revenge on his senpai, the obvious fake bf ploy, the train groping (???), and then the denial of feelings at the end... Even in the epilogue it's obvious Hotaka still doesn't fully trust Yusei, refusing a blowjob under the assumption that Yusei doesn't actually want to do it (and using stupid language like 'mine's dirty'). So unsatisfying.
Zetsubou ni Nake
Not into the angst but I'm curious about the story because of their other manga. Skimmed ch 5 and 10, see how it ends before deciding whether to read the whole thing. I dunno, I'm getting big Banana Fish with Yakuza and corporations vibes as of 2.11... :/ Aaaaand they both lived! Happy ending lol. I skipped all the in between details though so it's just kinda... Yay, I guess? I don't intend the read the whole angsty story any time soon tbh, so I won't give it a rating.
Motoyan Papa to Hitsuji-sensei
Cute, not big on drama. Translation slightly off. Light family slice of life stuff. Better translatiom after 5.5 Seems to still be ongoing?
Hanayome Wa Oku-san
Meh, it's cute that it was mutual all along, but it's too short! And the art style is thr old janky kind lol.
Slow Morning
One confessed after they graduated high school, the other was too scared to admit their feelings—so it's not actually unrequited! Six years later they reunite in Tokyo by chance, and the one who was too scared has gained the confidence to tell their friend the mutual feelings they've had all along...
Tabun Korekara Ai no Hibi
This. Was. Amazing. EASILY 5 . Romance has a happy resolution, while the career stuff is open ended but hopeful. I think it's better than an ending where they've written their hit manga together and have no problems anymore. This way there's still something for the characters to work towards *and* you know they're going to, even though it hard. Inspiring, to be honest.
