The Titan's bride
Porn with SO MUCH PLOT. Fantasy realm political isekai with a HUGE side of horny. I hope Baro and Martu get together.
Muri Marriage
I kind of hated this. I skimmed the whole thing only because the art is really good, but the forced marriage AND forced sex condition was so contrived and unsatisfying. Especially since the effeminate older character was forced to be the "wife" out of obvious heteronormativity.
Gravity Eyes
A decent old-style BL without most old-style tropes! The main character is an ex-host going to college so he's not as young, making the college student/professor angle less iffy. Also he's not in the same dept as the professor. Reminds me of Gravitation (ironic, given the title) in that the love interest is hung up a former lover that has passed away. This is a sequel following a third-wheel character from a previous story, but I skipped it intentionally. Wasn't interested in the plot.
Hotaru wa Ashita Shinu DJ - Enough
Aaaaand the spinoff! Mikami and Oono are together in this one, which is awesome. And there's a hint of drama (angst) in the brief glimpses that Asada's parents don't accept their relationship. Nimiya has tried to win them over, but they reject him (and Asada) completely. It's even mentioned that Asada lived with Nimiya's family for a while, and that probably explains why he gets along with Nimiya's mother so well. It's so incredibly grounded and realistic, including the sex (preparation and safety are very important). While the main story was just average for vibes, this oneshot is five stars easily!
Bakemono no Hanayome
Meh. Was hoping for a battle couple, and while they do find mutual ground as a couple, the extra chapter kind of ruins it with typical gender/social roles. :/
Haikyu!! Dj - Owari No 3-gatsu De Kimi O Matsu
A happy ending! So dramatic, and has some typical DJ formatting - atmospheric text over lots of white space. I liked it! It's very sweet how they re-connect in the end.
Hina wa Mitsuiro no Koi ni Torawareru
Interesting. Guy that toys with men falls in love, denies it to himself, cheats because that's what makes sense to him, then endures a decent round of soul-searching and not taking care of himself out of angst for refusing to accept his feelings and hurting the person he loves. And the guy who was cheated on actually has a backbone, and doesn't reconcile until the evidence of just how badly affected the top's health is is right in front of him. Dramatic, but effective. The art is *okay*. Their other works are those harlequin manga adaptations.
Cinderella Plot
Kinda boring? Just didn't strongly explore any of its themes or subplots. I can't really complain about the love triangle never fully manifesting, but I wish the rest had more depth. It seemed there was more potential for Azuma's awkwardness and Ao's growing confidence to bring them together honestly and with some more cute domesticity.
Scandalous Seiryo University
