One for the supernatural bl works that has inconclusive plot with a rushed pacing lol when will a supernatural bl story break this curse…
The plot isnt even that bad, the groundwork for it to expand is there, it just didnt which is such a shame. Would love to see more exposition on how the vampires came and escalate to where it is now. And i would especially love if keith’s whole family blood thing is established more in the story. We only see 3 or so scenes of that alluding to it but it was so brief and didnt feel as heavy as a major plot point would be. And the fact the whole revelation about it including rachel’s situation with him was done so fast is insane, all in one chapter??????? The fuckery that the former chairman did to rachel deserves an arc of itself bc no way are we brushing that under the rug ? Keith deserves to throttle his family to the ground bc what the fuck ? And for the holy blood to be so important im shocked we only know about it up until the end. You’d think the author would talk about it more in the middle of the story at least but no, its all just to lead up to keith being immune to vampires at the end, and bc the pacing is so wack, keith getting bitten isnt even shocking or worry bc we KNOW his blood is immune to it. Pacing progression and development all was a mess.
The artist is gutsy as hell to change parts of the story especially rachel villain’s background story into making her shin’s brother’s wife, bc by the end of it what does it change really lol. Shin resolution into finally killing her isnt that ground breaking. She died in two stabs, nothing crazy and that was it? It fell flat either way LMAO. I doubt if she wasnt a family member it would have changed anything. Like whats the point? I think what could have made that scene gripping was rachel biting keith instead and that leads shin into a spiral and shoots rachel non stop even after her confirmed death. with all the shit shin goes through, he deserves to go ape shit. Like the momentum to make the situation intense was there, im shocked it didnt go there. And all this talk with the chief about how shin has been subjected to so much trauma and hes been holding it in, it definitely would have been great to see shin at least for once go absolutely ballistic bc keith got hurt. Idk i feel like with the slow burn and couple progression, that wouldve been a great boiling point.
Couple relationship was def great though, i love how objective and serious shin is with his work and tries not to have it compromised even with keith’s feelings in the picture. Solid spine for an mc. And keith being this prince charming yet bumbles around shin for a crumb of approval like a puppy is adorable. Overall 7/10, nothing crazy, plot fell short and pacing was wack a bit. The panel having a lot of zoomed out shots for high intense combat scenes was so hilarious bc the anatomy looks so awkward and takes away the serious factor of the moment lmao. side characters were Meh, villain didnt feel concrete and i wasnt invested in anyone in particular. Rip to ramirez i guess. I truly do not care. Maybe if her character design was the butch og one the artist did then i would have mourned a bit but oh well. Character design was quite amateur-ish. The intial design was ten times better which is a shame. Romance was decent, could go for another 5 chapters for shin to fully establish his feelings especially with what hes been through. But i get that its probably gonna be in the sides instead. HOWEVER, i do firmly believe that readers deserve to read a conclusive ending to a story before delving into the sides especially with all that built up plot through out the story. Sides are usually for fluff and couple development, theres way too many loose ends to fit into the sides. Sigh. All in all its nothing crazy or amazing. Its an okay burger. Not gonna eat it again though.
