possibly the best thing i've read in a fucking while holy shit... not only is each character realistic, but the buildup of the plot is great. everything was great from start to finish. the way they revealed new pieces of plot and new backstory for the characters was so moving each time. everytime the panels went black and a backstory started, i knew i'd end up crying by the end. it's a very sad story indeed, but it is not a tragedy! it's gorgeous and 100% something i'd recommend to anyone.
it also has several very strong female characters other than the lead, which is very refreshing to see. it discussed the sexism that women face at one point, while also showing the power that each can have, while also also not making it as if women only exist to be permanently in contrast to someone else. it wasn't at all like the female characters were written to be strong and rebellious but without depth to be like "oh lookit!" instead, it shows women that are comfortable in their femininity and shows that there is still power in that. like, you can be a woman that is very strong and rebellious or a woman that is very feminine and submissive *or* somewhere in between but still have your humanity all the while. like, the characters don't exist just to make a point, if you know what i mean. they're genuinely good characters. and that applies to every single character, female or male. i normally read seinen and not shoujo so normally the stories i read have female characters w/ 0 depth, which is super disappointing. because of that, it was more refreshing and surprising for me to read genuinely good female characters and i just thought it'd be worth it to mention in my review/comment. so for anyone else that's SICK OF SHITTY FEMALE CHARACTERS, this is for you...!
i also love the way that they rewrite the original story she got isekai'd into. it's so fucking cool seeing the comparison... like woah the development is crazy... u just gotta read this and EXPERIENCE it... i read this shit in one sitting...
