I think the author put it best it's "happiness surrounded by unhappiness". The first story is really sweet and realistic so it might mislead you into thinking the others will be sweet too. I guess they are in a way bittersweet. realistic relationship dealing with missed opportunities and unrequited love.

I fucking love this. it's heart wrenching but there's a happy end and it's so worth it. Plus I'm always a slut for a good age gap story
