An ugly girl that makes the most of it. Recognizes the world is unfair but tries to thrive regardless. Also appreciate the artist for not falling into the trap of 'beautifying' the main character while claiming plain/ugliness.

Love this one so much! Main character is challenged by her sex and foreign status which makes thriving as a knight in a (once) enemy nation difficult for her. Faces A LOT of shit from other men, is talked down to, and is (tw) nearly raped and killed. A prince offers her an olive branch and she fights by his side during the war and they develop a mutual love (platonic on the MC - Pauli's side) and respect for one another. I feel this webtoon *really* delves into its feminist side when Pauli interacts with 3 special women during this story's post-war era which really levels up this webtoon from amazing to SPECTACULAR! Cannot recommend this enough. Fair warning tho, this story shows VERY little mercy and features medieval-like violence.

Currently in my shoujo/josei era and while I've been reading a ton of works, this one really sets itself apart from the rest. The romance is immaculate, the characters all have incredible depth, and the plot is so intriguing!! It's somehow dramatic, slice of life-y, and fantastical all at the same time and I am absolutely in love!! Features time travel, a gentle and besotted male lead, and wholesome relationships of all types! A must read!
