WAT. That breakup + 4 year time skip in the last TWO CHAPTERS were so sudden dafaq. Over half of the story's plot was driven by the one big misunderstanding which was quite frustrating. I wanted Junyoung to just blurt out that part so many times, just so they could get over it ('cause I knew what was eventually gonna happen yaknow). Other than that, I liked the main CP (pls give tan 2nd ML to me pls, he's so sweet), but tbh Shihoon looked kinda ugly at the beginning :')

Drew me in for its 'I raised you and now you want to eat my tofu' energy but its so much deeper than that. The early 1900s worldbuilding, the horrifically tragic backstories of our main characters, and the emotional connection you make with each is so resounding. Janet is truly a saint and James is truly all the good in the world. Surprisingly HE (with everyone I needed to be alive I can't believe).
