Love Jinx

Ongoing | Geonhan,건한 | 2020 released

As of 19 chapters, I'm really torn... I'm not sure I like that this guy is obviously end game. He's getting more backstory now, but he was manipulative and horrible from the start--blackmailing, almost outing the protagonist to his family more than once, all this shit. He's clearly crazy and obsessive, but I guess we're supposed to see it as devotion. Eh. The art is touch and go. Sometimes it's beautiful, sometimes people have weird little pointy chins, tiny heads, and huge, thick necks. I would give it three stars for now, but I actually like the secondary couple/throuple more than the main, so I'm in it for that. Hopefully it starts to flow a little better for me. I do really like break up and second love themes, I have to admit. Here's hoping it's satisfying in the end.

Sin

Complete | Ka Yu Jin | 2000 released

Too rushed and short to make much of an impact. It's sad to be that he had confused feelings over a father figure, but I'm really glad nothing ever happened between them. It does make you wonder if he's denying his sexuality, though, which would be a bummer.

LOVELESS

Complete | Penguin Frontier | 2000 released

Aw, that wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be based on how people were reacting. It's sad, but not so sad. He realized he can love. This isn't the end of his story. The good news is he can love again. And maybe this time he'll better understand his feelings. Pretty art, very brief story. It would have hurt more if it were longer, that's for sure. Not sure why it's tagged as a tragedy though. That being said, I did still cry, but I'm a wuss who cries at everything, haha.

The Perfect Relationship

Complete | Akkang, Sam | 2017 released

Pretty sad, fucked up story. Definitely depressing with no real relief. I feel so bad for that high school student, though I'm glad he was given comfort and held and such, allowed to cry. I hope that after this, he and the other guy, the main dude's boyfriend, both have happier lives. Maybe he'll help the high schooler get out of his situation. Maybe when he's older, they'll date, and they can both feel like they accomplished things they thought they wouldn't. Either way, definitely a downer, but most of the characters weren't likable enough for it to really sting. His son, though. Ugh, it was so cruel. Right into the end, just how kind and trusting he was. Not something I'd reread, but not awful. Just a bummer.

Hitomazu wa Horyuu

Ongoing | 茶渋たむ,Tam chashibu | 2019 released

Not sure so far, but I do like how he speaks so candidly like that, basically spelling it out for the other guy. I enjoy this dynamic, so here's hoping the rest is good.

Kyuuhankagai Fukurokouji

Complete | Tamekou | 2019 released

The main story wasn't really for me. Too rushed, kinda cheesy. I couldn't really get into it because everything moved so quickly. It made them all seem weird and illogical. The third story, however, was interesting. I love the way it was framed, and the subtle shift with the girl. Realizing this guy they all idolize is a sadist. The simple change from the beginning. I really loved that final line, "...I don't..."
