Butterfly Night
Absolutely disgusting. Hey, it's okay when a guy rapes you, as long as he ends up being hot! That aside, the plot is rushed and ridiculous. Then I learned that she ripped off another mangaka's art directly. This chick does not have a lot going for her.
Vampire And Hunter
Polyamory
I admit, I'm kind of intrigued. I love stories focusing on polyamoury, rare as they are, though I'm not sure how I feel about the main woman's life and relationship. I mean, in Western comics it would be pretty obvious how this will go, but I see so much weird forgiveness in this particular genre. I really, really hope the main girl is the one who gets multiple lovers, or something like that. We'll see. I'm nervous moving forward, but I like the poly family right now. They're mostly not creepy, which is nice.
Edo Karuta
Only read the first story. It was sweet enough, even though I hate that she randomly had to get skinny in the last two pages. But at least he loved her before and was even concerned about her weight loss. I wish he'd beat the crap out of all of the people who mocked her, though.
Kimi no Naka Ni
Hm. Kind of abrupt, though I do like that the he was deeply in love with his wife. I hate how yaoi just tosses aside female characters like they're placeholders. I really hate "it's okay if it's you" type stuff with a straight character, so I'm kinda glad it... went the direction that it did. Sad, but it didn't make me cry, which is unusual for me with emotional stuff. I guess I just couldn't really connect with the characters. But it was unusual, so three stars.
Kanojo No Kare (maeda Tomo)
Very short, but a creepy little tale about love and obsession, and the unhealthy, disturbing behaviors that might lie beneath the surface of people we love. I liked it.
Oyasuminasai No Ato Wa
Hm. I liked it in ways, but I feel like it had a lot of potential to be better. There were also some frustrating, rushed elements, and I felt like things were resolved way too easily. It was very sad when that teacher got fired because of a misunderstanding, though. And the way that the uke was treated didn't seem to be as much of a focus later. I would have liked to have seen more of that. Anyway, it was sweet, and it had a happy ending, so hey. Plus it's rare to see an omegaverse that actually focuses on the kids or pregnancy, so that was interesting.
Strongest Son In Law
Not my usual cup of tea, but one chapter in, it's kind of cute. I like the idea of a big, tough guy going domestic. I'm not a huge fan of het, and the translation here is iffy, but I'll check it out again in the future to see how it unfolds.
