Soshite Mata Kiss wo Shite
Hmmm... Interesting so far. I need more chapters to get a better feel, so it's a four for now, but could go either way. Only one chapter at the moment. It's got a concept I'd like to see more often in yaoi, overcoming homophobia and what not. But how it unfolds is tricky. We'll see. EDIT: Five stars for going much better than I thought it might! I need to read it again from the start, after these few chapters, but it's such a sweet, touching story. Sad, too, but in the right ways. I also like that it wasn't some random dude who wouldn't take a hint. I was worried that was the case, so I'm glad it ended up being more complicated between them. I really wish there were more stories like this. I love the whole overcoming homophobia thing, the fear and the bravery and the growth. This was a great read, and I love the twist with Matsuri. I hope he gets some love soon! Maybe in an extra chapter or something. He deserves his own manga.
Asterisk (torino Shino)
A very sweet little story that becomes more irritating based on a sheer lack of communication. I hate that shit so much. But as sad as it was that he broke his heart that way, at least they do come together in the end. It just seems like such a long way around to that point. Maybe they did need to grow up apart, but twelve years is a long time to be separated based on the sheer fact that you won't just tell each other how you feel. Anyway, that aside, it's a nice little story, and I'm glad they end up happy, even when work regularly puts miles between them.
Ani No Hanashi
Sad and sweet little story. I gave it five stars, but I feel like it could have gone a little deeper. More with the mom, more with the family. I mean, I like how it turned out more or less, but it felt too short for what it was. These stories rarely really dive into the conflict of being gay in a homophobic world. But I appreciated the attempt.
Kimi no Sumire
Aw, that was a very sweet little manga. Nothing too complex, just a sweet little story about two boys who like each other. I would have liked more development and such, like with the other student, but that's okay. It was just a nice, simple read.
