Tatoe Toraware No Koi Demo

Ongoing | Cj Michalski | 2007 released

Aww, he wants to go spend time at the castle where he raped him. How romantic! I absolutely cannot stand this trope in yaoi manga. "I'm sorry I made you rape me! I love you so it doesn't matter what you do to me!!!"

Gintama dj - Mienai Kusari

Complete | Paraiso,Harada | 2013 released

Suuuuuper messed up. But it was psychological and fascinating like everything Harada does. I don't typically read doujinshi, and I've never seen this anime, but I love Harada, so I thought I'd read it regardless. I feel like I got everything without knowing the backstory, just from the context of this oneshot. I've heard this one described as the most disturbing yaoi, but it's not even in the top ten. Definitely messed up, but nobody got eaten alive, or raped by a horse, or disemboweled during sex, so it could have been worse. XD (And has been!) If you like mind rape and twisted stories, especially violence and torture, this is the manga for you. Otherwise, maybe go read something fluffy.

Ouji No Hakoniwa

Complete | ogawa chise | 2000 released

Stories like this really frustrate me, because there's so much potential, and it's all thrown away for some simple rape to love. I was really hoping the second story would just end after the first part, focusing on the messed up relationship they had that would mean they could never be together. It's better than what it was, and seeing the uke drop to his knees like that really grossed me out after what that jerk did to him. Being "in love" doesn't give you a free pass to hurt someone. The first story, I found the uke interesting but the seme boring. However, the art is so pretty, and I did enjoy elements of both stories, even if the way they wrapped up annoyed me, so I gave it four stars instead of the two it would probably get based on those endings alone. Also, I love the guy painting the house, totally like, "Ah, I see you're in chains. That's nice."

OUROBOROS:ウロボロス

Complete | Songhyel | 2000 released

Ooh, this looks promising! I know it's just the first chapter, but dark, twisted, and pretty, plus the rapist isn't his love interest? I'm excited to see how it unfolds. I imagine there'll be a lot of emotional suffering, but hopefully there's some satisfying catharsis and a happy ending.
