Ichi Ni no San!

Complete | Okuyama Puku | 2013 released

Switched from four stars to five by the end. This was super sweet. I want to read more about these boys. And the other two! And the three friends in general. I just love that mixed gender friendship stuff. I'm sad this is over. It had several elements that are sadly a bit rare in BL manga.

Wazato Janakute Mo Gomennasai

Complete | suyama torico | 2016 released

Cute so far. We'll see where it goes. I gave it five stars for now because the art is pretty, and I like that the main character is actually gay. Might change from here, but I like what little there is at the moment. ETA: Poor Irie! I wanted to cry when he started crying, all embarrassed and awkward. What the hell. I was happy because there was an actually gay character, and yet it still manages to go into the typical yaoi "it's okay if it's you" bullshit. I hope it isn't as dumb as that, but I have low expectations. Switching to four stars for that, but we'll see!

Yatamomo

Complete | harada | 2014 released

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!! Loved it! So glad I finally got around to reading this one. I love Harada. So far, I'd only had a chance to read her short stuff, which is more heart-destroying than anything. This one definitely made me ugly-cry a few times, but it's all worth it in the end. Such a sweet couple. I love the little family they created with the three of them. I wish there were more adventures with them! I'm also worried, though, because if there's ever another continuance, it might result in the relationship getting all messed up. D: Anyway, loved it. Harada has quickly become one of my top favorite mangakas.

Kurayami Ni Strobe

Complete | hayakawa nojiko | 2011 released

I'm definitely a fan of this mangaka. Her art is so pretty, and her stories always have a nice little hint of hope between the main pair. And other characters, apparently, haha. This is a cute one, though I wish she'd explored the homophobia element more. Usually I prefer a world where being gay or bi is the norm, but when it's slice of life, coming of age stuff like this, I enjoy seeing the boys come into their own. The snippet with the poor bullied boy was interesting and sad, and I was looking forward to the guys facing and overcoming bigotry thrown their way. Oh well. It was a sweet manga regardless.

Shonen To Yoru No Mahou

Complete | fukaumi hisato | 2000 released

Ugh, I love this mangaka already! Why does she only have a single chapter up for all of her stuff? At least the newest one isn't just a oneshot. The art is great, the characters are cute, and I just want more. Mooooooooorrrrreeeeee!!!!

Wagamama Basic

Complete | Fuuki mame | 2019 released

Aw, how pretty and perfect! Can't wait for more. I wish more stories would just get the flustered uncertainty out of the way early on. I'm in it for the established relationships, damn it. Assuming this isn't just one story in an anthology, which would suck. Fingers crossed, either way. I love how he sits there, agonizing and certain that he's just gonna tell the guy that he's cutting off contact, then the second he sees him he's frantically confessing. XD EDIT: Ah, okay, so chapter two is a continuation, just with a different couple. This salon is teeming with gay! Also, why does he refer to the guy's brother as "she?" I thought maybe it was a language thing, and the dude was using a neutral pronoun, but it was never addressed, so I have no idea. Also, all of her couples look the same with slight variations, which threw me off. I remember the main guy in this one had a cameo in the first one, and I was confused because he looked so much like the other guy. EDIT CHAP 3: And that explains why there's so much gay. I appreciate that someone continued the translation, but it's a shame that it's so off. Still, nice of them to try. Here's hoping we get some continuations with the first couple soon.

Tsumaranai Ninomiya-san

Complete | HIRAMA Mitsunaga | 2013 released

Very cute so far. I'd like a little more clarification on some of their communication, but it might be a cultural thing. It's a tiny bit confusing in one or two parts, but I'm enjoying it. Very sweet and fluffy, a nice contrast to some of the other stuff I've been reading lately. I look forward to the continuation. EDIT: Awwwwwwww, I love this! I love the way the stories connect, and I love the whole ex-boyfriends and similar tastes thing. I really love how both of the ukes became good friends. It's just so cute all around. I want to read about these guys forever. D: I really enjoyed this. It was so sweet, and it made me cry. But in a good way. Plus, all of the characters are actually gay from the start! None of that bullshit "it's okay if it's you." I wish there were more like it out there, just focusing on the lives of gay men and not making every story about guys being into girls then randomly wanting one guy.
