Henai
I really love this couple. They're total perverts who are totally low key in love. This is the sweetest you can get from Harada. XD It's like her only couple with a truly healthy relationship and trauma-free lives. It's tacky making light of something so awful, but it plays on the trope that's so common in yaoi, and I like that. Very cute and sweet.
K's secret
I'm intrigued. Also, ew, they're that excited to eat hagfish? I can't stop thinking about how they use hagfish slime to make those artificial eggs you can buy in cartons. It's making me gag. That aside! I'm eager to see where this goes. I expect it to be the usual cliches, but I don't care, cause the art is nice, and that boss is hot as hell. Hopefully it'll be a pleasant journey with decent writing, pacing, and characterization.
About Getting Asked Out by the Biggest Misogynist in School
Lol, this manga is kind of odd, and the little hints of sexism in the culture suck, but I love the art. Yet again, this mangaka is all about gender bending. Just cause, since she won't even let the character explain why he's doing it (since it isn't a personal choice). At any rate, the short chapters are a shame. I wonder where it's gonna go. I assume it'll be the typical "I fell in love with him even though I'm straight" BS, but it's cute, so whatever.
Nichoume No Nagai Yoru
It's a shame because the art is gorgeous, AND it isn't incest for freaking once. This mangaka loves that stuff. But it's seven pages, haha. Just a snapshot about how looks can be deceiving.
The Fifth Encounter
Aw, I want more! Only two chapters so far, but I like the art, and I like the way the character tries to pretend like he isn't there to help this kid. Though it's a bit of a contradiction that he won't let the girlfriend take important things of sentiment because he wants to be surrounded by his brother's stuff, but he told the thief he could take anything he wanted. Oh well, logic. But seriously, I hope this updates soon.
Your Fragrance
Nooooooooo, the art is so pretty, I want more. It's beautiful, and I'm bummed that there's nothing else by this author. At the same time, the person who created it creeped me out a bit with the comments at the end. I was getting an uncomfortable, creepy dude on the bus kind of vibe. Other than that, it just sucks that this is super short and doesn't actually go anywhere. The art is what really sells it, and it isn't long enough in that sense.
Keyring Lock
This was so pretty! And I really enjoyed the story, even though I'm bummed that there wasn't even a kiss. They had these little intimate moments, but it was always shrouded in the strange relationship between them, like you couldn't call it romantic or anything. I know that they care about one another, and there's the implication that they're dating after the girl at the coffee shop asks, but it would have been nice to see a little affection. It's sort of an odd story, but it's interesting. I would have liked to have seen more, and I feel like a lot is left unexplained, but not in a plot hole kind of way. I'm gonna read all of this author's work, though, because it's so beautiful. Hopefully the stories are this quality or better.
Rakka
This mangaka really has a thing for stuck up ukes being jerks then paying the price for it. But this is interesting regardless. I have mixed feelings, but I'm intrigued. I don't know if this story is gonna continue, or if this is a collection of different stories, but I'd like to see where he can go from here. ETA: So I just finished chapter five, and this gets weirder and weirder. I don't get why everyone seems to love the second couple. The whole thing is just weird and creepy. The enema, and how he's like, "You look pregnant. Let's deliver the baby!" Like wtf, I laughed but I was disturbed. And then he turned him gay by screwing him? You can't turn people gay. This isn't like being a vampire, except instead of biting to turn someone, you stick your dick in their ass. I did, however, like the third couple, despite some of its own creepy parallels. I love that age difference. And it's nice to see two lonely people comfort one another. I could have done without the weird moment where he tells the guy he sees him like his father, to which the man responds by jumping his bones. But other than that, it's cute and sweet. So far I still like her omegaverse story more, though I'm so worried about how that ones gonna end up. Plus it takes forever to update. So here I am.
Yuki No Shita No Qualia
I have mixed feelings about this one. The art is GORGEOUS, and I love Umi, the uke. I grew to tolerate the seme, and I understood that his behavior was reflective of his own demons and inability to separate his father's behavior from what was happening with Umi. But I don't feel like there was ever a satisfying moment of accountability and remorse for how he behaved. He slapped Umi right after he was assaulted. That really needed to be addressed, and it never was. I did like the catharsis at the end, and the truth about Umi's first love. So sad and heartbreaking, so I'm glad he finds happiness in the end. However, it's so brief, you don't get much time to enjoy it. It's great that the seme realizes now that he's found his other half. And up to that point, I feel like he was primarily asexual, with even his pleased response to seeing gay sex videos coming across as scientific, more than anything. But I think they work together, and though it touched on the depressing realities of being gay in a homophobic world, it was sweet over all. I just want to squeeze Umi forever, though. I love him so much. Four stars instead of five because I find the way a lot of things with the seme were handled to be annoying. At least the end is sweet. (And bonus points for Umi's awesome mom and her perfect response to his confession!)
