I didn't get what was happening

Didn't really want to read this because i knew i was going to end up liking the ghost character and was afraid he would pass on and the MC would end up with the second ML but luckily no, the ending is similar to Full Moon wo Sagashite.

I mean the story was good, but the ending could have been better explained. What happened between him and his sister??? The whole story felt too rushed with the time skips
