kei_k's manga / #Long-term Relationship(20)

Itadakimasu, Gochisou-sama

Complete | kurahashi tomo | 2015 released

As one of the commenters said, "no crazy love triangles, abuse, dysfunctional crap, violence, nonsensical plot-hole weirdness, just pure reciprocal love." I liked this manga overall. I just wished the appearance of Hiroto's friend (who did it with him when he was having troubles with his marriage) wasn't done too conveniently.. I mean, c'mon.. Just when Haru mentioned that Hiroto may not have been over that incident yet, he magically appears to have a proper closure. lol. But anyway, they're too cute. I also actually love the secondary couple... I wanted more..

Wonderful Life

Complete | YAMAKAMI Riyu | 2000 released

Actually has 2 volumes, but I don't think it'll be picked up soon, so I'll mark it as 'Already Read' for now. Chinese scans: http://www.kuaimh.com/view-38186.html | http://www.77mh.com/201110/209107.htm ------ I really like this manga. It's a simple, slice of life type of romance that I like. The seme is gentle and caring albeit the one who's more insecure because of his lifestyle (compared to the uke). The uke is accomplished and reliable, but I like how he expresses his love for the seme to make him feel assured. It's very simple (and normal) but it's quite rare to find a story like this amidst thousands of Yaoi/BL manga where a lot of seme tend to be aggressive and forceful, while the uke is too naive and easily manipulated.

Kozure Ookami (INOUE Satou)

Complete | inoue satou | 2009 released

Well, the stories are such hodge podge and incoherent, but yeah... Wasn't much of a fan of the 2nd story because of the open relationship, though I liked that they were willing to be reversibles.. The main story is somewhat realistic and even though it was heartbreaking in the early stages, I felt proud of them.. Wow, and if Miya didn't leave Tado for Chichi's sake before, Non wouldn't have been born so Akkun wouldn't have him.. The third which was a oneshot is so random. There's barely background story and I dislike how they're "cheating" or well, I suppose it's no longer cheating because I think like the 2nd story, they're sort of in an open relationship. So yeah, would've given it a 4 but wasn't a fan of the open relationship presented so..

Good Morning Kiss

Ongoing | takasuka yue | 2000 released

ch9 Currently has until ch12, but decided to stop at ch9 because I don't think it will be continued and the story so far was already quite satisfying. I mean, if I continue, there might be another arc that wouldn't be complete since translations stopped. Alam mo 'yun? Mabibitin lang ako. lol. So far, this is better than the first mostly because of their age. And well, it's interesting to see an early marriage plan for now, because if it were the old me, I would've thought that was really romantic and all, but now, I just don't think it's practical because I realized marriage is beyond LOVE. Especially at their age... Sure, Uehara's pretty matured, but he missed out a lot from his youth due to him being a workaholic to survive. I worry that this could really be an issue later on.. Also, Nao is still very immature so it's quite hard to see how she'll cope with marriage life.. Mostly it's because I get frustrated when she spends too much on things she doesn't really want (mostly just get swayed by other people's opinion)... Errr I just think it takes two matured adults willing to compromise to make a relationship (especially a marriage) work. Uehara's very busy with school and work so he barely has time for Nao but I like that even if it's like that, he remains faithful. It's a bit worrisome that he hangs out with girls nonchalantly when they offer him treats to food though, because it could totally be taken advantage of later on. lol.

Mr.Arihara's Secret Circumstances

Complete | Neri Kinoshita | 2000 released

read this once (forgot exact date) but I'm marking it again today. start/end: 11/12/18 * I super love Kei. He's just so precious. I'm adding him to my fave uke list. UwU

Life Senjou no Bokura

Complete | TOKOKURA Miya | 2016 released

start/end: 04/03/19 T_T It hurt to imagine this happening, what more IRL. :( Especially the part where... C'mon.. It was Akira who first "fell in love" with Yuuki despite being straight.. So knowing that same guy break up with him saying they weren't really gay anyway broke my heart. It felt like, even if someone pursues you, claiming he's so in love with you and is willing to do anything, in the end, people still change, and so do their feelings. There's no guarantee that you'll always stay the same in their heart. I guess this is why it's really hard for me to imagine myself being with someone again anytime soon. I just feel like I'd just waste time being with someone I won't end up with anyway.. Ugh, got totally sidetracked.. But anyway, I'll keep this in my favorite list. Just to remind me how being afraid of "losing" someone to the point that some will choose to drive them away instead, is just useless. It's better to spend time creating memories with your special someone rather than overthinking of the uncertainties of the future.

Paradise View

Complete | kojima lalako | 2013 released

I've read this a lot of times and I still get hurt every time.. I always forgotten to tag this as "already read" though. hehe. Anywayyyy... The overall tone of the manga was just sad and heartbreaking.. but it's such an eye-opener and it really makes you wonder how people deal with such IRL.. Ughhh my heart really hurt for Tomohisa during their "cool off" period. T______T Then, bam! My tears immediately fell and my heart hurt for Hideo when I read the extra chapter/epilogue.. T______T // prequel: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/kimi_to_parade/

Cappuccino

Complete | Yoshizumi Wataru | 2009 released

I read and re-read this a lot before, but left it untagged. Anyway, what I really liked about this is how they made it close to reality. In reality, once our partner cheats, even though we try to make it work, most of the time, it doesn't. There will be those times when you begin to be paranoid, thinking he's cheating again even though he's not, and you'll just feel uncomfortable around each other. In their case, maybe they still could've made it work, but because the "other girl" had stalker tendencies and scared off Ari, it started to feel like she will no longer be in peace as long as she stays with Sousuke. Hmph. Good for them. I really disliked how Sousuke was wishy-washy. His attitude was great in the beginning, but the moment he couldn't refuse Aina about that date, he made a crack in what he and Ari had. All the more when he got together with Aina, simply because she became prettier once in College. Ugh. I just couldn't accept guys like him thinking "It's different. I love my girlfriend but this girl makes me feel something different. I just couldn't bear to leave any of them. yada yada." Ughhh This manga really is my go-to manga, whenever I feel like I want to remember what it's like to be cheated on, and what I should do to handle it. Last re-read: 12/02/19
