Make Me Bark
Just eh. It was pretty great in the beginning but kind of fell off in my opinion. The story had potential and the author tried to make it more original too by scrapping the love triangle but there’s too many holes left. The actions of the characters in the beginning of the story don’t really match up with at the end and I am honestly left confused and disappointed. The art is really nice tho and huge props for portraying bdsm as how it actually is with the collar/muzzle scene. Edit: forgot to add that there is also a switch in this manga which I think is pretty cool as they are practically nonexistent in yaoi stuff but I also don’t think that the character being a switch was intentional... as I stated above the characters aren’t the same by the end of manga and this was probably the most drastic change.
Window to Window
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MANHWA/MANGA I HAVE READ. No cliches, plot twists on plot twists, sweet moments, funny as hell and not conservative at all with the sexy scenes ;) there’s quite a bit of bdsm stuff in here (softcore and hardcore) and I am LIVING for it, as a sub myself. Even if you aren’t into bdsm, this is worth a read for the story itself. Edit: just as a note since I’ve seen opinions below and people seem to not pay attention to details enough, but the plot advances every time they fuck too. People are talking about how there’s too much smut haven’t realized that there’s plot in the porn, that it’s not just straight up smut. The characters thoughts an emotions are mixed in too and that plays a crucial role in how they interact with each other in their sexy time and further advances the plot. Another edit: one thing I forgot to add is one thing I love about this story and author which is that she doesn’t tip toe around the taboo of homophobia like most bl authors do. It’s a (dare I say) somewhat realistic element to it. The characters struggle with internalized homophobia and acceptance which is why I like this story so much. It adds a realistic emotional layer to the characters (same is said for the sequel Room to Room). I love this story! :D
Room to Room
Not your average bl love story. One thing I love about this author is that she touches on taboos that most other bl stories live in fantasy like worlds where being gay isn’t even discussed. This story has homophobia, sexual assault and PTSD. Author-nim who wrote this is incredible at writing depth into the plot with these touchy subjects. That being said this story is amazingly wholesome as well. It’s a drama for sure but the ending will have you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside :) I recommend reading both the main story Window to Window and this spinoff!! Both are great :)
