Hakuji
Read this a few years ago, don’t remember the story much, but I do remember it was a lil hard to read (heavy?) and was quite a unique story.
Choco Strawberry Vanilla
Idek why this has such a high rating.. I really did not like it. But well, that’s just my opinion. I read this a few years back, but all I remember is that I really hated it: the fact that the seme tried to come between his friend and his friend’s lover, the fact that they didn’t reject it, the fact that one person kept getting hurt because of one person’s selfishness and unwillingness to stop trying to monopolize his friend and steal his belongings. Honestly, it was just a dumb situation and futile love triangle.
Yukidoke no Koi
Full points for the first storyy~ other stories (ch. 6 & 7) are kinda depressing and full of angst tho... too much for my poor kokoro to take. but first story was full of sweetness! (Even though it had its own share of angst at points)
Hitotsu Shikanai Mono
It was a lil bit messed up, but I like that it was a bit realistic and had a lesson in the end. I love the fact that the seme was able to change the uke for the better, and that they had such a healthy relationship from the start (like being friends first and getting to know each other). The seme is amazing for helping kabuki find himself and leaving that dangerous lifestyle. The fact that husbando-san helped uke-san happier than he’s ever been is just one of the things that really makes this manga awesome. (Also. Everything was consensual. What more could you ask for?)
Stalker's Game
Well then. That was... something.... here I was, hoping that somehow this would be one rare story where the mc escaped and DIDNT fall for his stalker. That’s the direction in was going after all, in some ways. But to think he’d just... give in... he became perpetrator himself, made the stalker fall for him and get even more obsessed, then they kinda just... and what a fragile relationship it is too, hardly a power struggle anymore. Now, it’s to the point where either of them can live without each other... I gotta say tho. This was an interesting premise for a story, and tho I might complain about things that happened in it or how things turned out, the fact remains that I couldn’t take my eyes off it and was fascinated to the end.
Koko Wa Yasashii Niwa
I was gonna give this to 5 stars but retracted it back to 4 stars after the first sex scene. Right after the freckin discovery (that akira was not mamoru). It would have been better to make this manga a bit longer instead of jumping straight to sex. Like, u just escaped from the illusion that he isn’t a brother but actually a stranger that’s been living with u this whole time, and ur going to suddenly kiss and have sex with him? Without any reservations? This would have been a heck of a lot better if that part was better paced. That’s the thing that almost ruined what was otherwise a masterpiece of a story. The dark emotions and deep trauma in this were really well portrayed. Even I shed some tears. Their characters and backgrounds were so well developed, and the story was just so very well written man. When kaoru finally accepted his brother’s death (particularly the scene where he put out the incense and pictures) I was so moved I even shed some tears bro. Plus seeing akira’s past and his shit mother hurt my kokoro. This story is amazing and well written in s many ways, that’s why I was so disappointed by that sudden sex scene that came out of nowhere. It’s like it was put there just for the sake of making this a yaoi manga instead of a shounen ai tragedy slice of life. It wouldn’t have been so out of place if it happened a few chapters later, after kaoru had a little more time to accept reality and who was in front of him (akira). Anyways, I’ll still give it 4 stars since it was such an amazing story.
Thank You My God
What a beautiful story. I don’t blame nicol for running away from home and not wanting to go back. Who would want to live in such a toxic place? And that brother will. He knows how much his brother suffered at that place and still wants to bring him back there? Even almost forcefully? Nah bro that ain’t it. That’s very selfish of you. If you love your brother and want him to be happy as you said, don’t drag him back to a place where he’ll be forever miserable. Let him stay at this new place where he can heal and not have to deal with your shitty bitch of a mother. And back away a little. Your bro-con obsessiveness is showing. This story tho was a masterpiece. It powerfully portrayed the emotions of each character, and showed nicol’s growth as a person. He sure went through some hard times oml. I’m glad that brother of his realized how much he was hurting him with his words and gave up on trying to bring nicol back home. The cpl (gosh I’m glad they ended up together) was cute to see. Even if they never said the words to each other, you could tell that they loved each other through their actions. It’d be nice to see more of their interactions, but I guess this story was more of a focus on nicol running away from his toxic home and being able to heal and survive in a new place, starting from nothing, than on the romance aspect. We didn’t get to see much of their relationship and it’s development after all. There was hardly even a confirmation. But I guess u could still tell they were a cpl. What a big heart he has tho, being able to still love his mother. All poor boy wanted was some attention and acknowledgement. And all she gave was poisonous words and the cold shoulder, not even caring for his health or anything. Then blaming him for shit he didn’t do? Nah man. If it was me I’d never utter that I love a woman like that. She’s still his mom and used to care so I guess I wouldn’t say ‘hate’, per say (tis a strong word), but she’s still a despicable person.
