He was also the og fl's real father. The emperor was cursed bc of black magic, it was revealed that he was in love with her mom so much that he could not take it after her passing and therefore decided to dabble in black magic to forget about the pain. The fl and the sorcerer looks for ways to cure him and uses the branch of the world tree, which gived the fl the knowledge of how, though it endangered her life, and allowed her to meet her mom. All's well that ends well. They got rid of the spirit and the past emperor is not such a bad guy and he made up with his own daughter. It turned into a story of two single fathers enamoured with their adorable daughters. Sorcerer admitted his feelings to her and asked her out for dinners and stuff. The white haired og ml is also there. But they're obviously stopped by a barrier known as the fl's father FL's coronation Happy ever after :)))
