Koko Wa Yasashii Niwa

Complete | enzou | 2016 released

It's funny how the author wasn't aware of the "twisted" or "dark" themes of their own story (which is actually relateable). The essence of name and identity is a core element here that's why names will be redundant to a point of it being impossible to forget their names after reading. We have an abused child who has nowhere to go and an orphaned boy who found his dead brother in him. Together, they will have to settle their past and face reality.

Warehouse

Complete | Team Killerwhale | 2016 released

Had the time of my life! I enjoy the consistency of the plot and how it circles back to where it started. The last translator is right, fiction that entails toxic relationship must be kept as is. There is nothing good from wishing to have the same. These two are broken and can only heal together. They are aware of their crimes against each other and the holes they must work on to fill. I enjoy the quiet panels because the artists are expressive with their characters. The ending was predictable but refreshing and satisfying. I enjoyed everything about this and how nonromanticized it is.

Nii-chan (harada)

Complete | Harada | 2013 released

Yui had run away from a neighborhood nii-chan just before they had sex. Instead of fear, he grew up in regret for having run away. Thus, he goes back in search for his nii-chan. However, the gentle nii-chan has grown spiteful of him and was intent on making Yui keep his promise not to run away. The story unfolds to darker pasts and entangled human relations because nii-chan is just a broken man who trapped a boy to prove society that his juvenile love with an adult man was true.

This prequel just proved my point in the sequel after this. Kan's overworked state and Yumi's overly accepting/carefree attitude brought out the worst in him. Which is why I am more happier of the third sequel

Can't See Can't Hear But Love!

Complete | nasty cat | 2000 released

Intention-wise, it is a good call-out to the government for the disabled (if they still do not care for them). Plot-wise, it is very linear. The characters are dominantly flat and the main couple is deceived 90% of the time. Midway the story, I am no longer persuaded by the tragic elements of the story. I cried, but now I'm just aware of how much the plot is forced to take course to a tragic end

I will die soon

Complete | 이원식 , lee won shik,꿀찬 , ggool chan | 2019 released

Holy shit this was awesome! I was getting bored midway because it was stagnant but the author had bugger plans and tied the loose ends. I can curse all I want just to show how raw my amazement and love for this. However, I was also blinded by the journey that I forgot about its destination. This is the best manhwa find ever!

Ouroboros

Complete | KANZAKI Yuuya | 2009 released

A certain "upright" person pissed me off. Nonetheless, I drained my tears for Tatsuya's tsundere sacrifices and Ikou's repressed suffering. They're bonded by one person, yet through her, they became more than just revenge. I'm just sad for Tatsuya because he really bound himself to Ikou while Ikou, in his repressed state, lived a life having people who love him and care for him. I know Ikou is actually the main protagonist and for obvious reasons I pity Tatsuya's underworld isolation. But thinking about it, Tatsuya also had loyal followers, a tsundere police officer who saves him HAHAHA and Ikou, who chose him regardless. They truly are the Ouroboros ️ best two days of my life!

Baker Baker Paradox

Complete | KURETA Makine | 2000 released

Memory lose and age regression. Title refers to the psychological test of associative memories regarding baker as a profession versus Baker as a name. Thus, the title manifests that associative memory in Hideyuki's memory loss and age regression where his memory loss was from his trauma of being seen and found out. Also that he regained them because he saw someone which is associated to the trigger that caused his trauma. This is incestuous, but the execution solidifies its theme without encouraging nor romanticizing incest. It's a story of two brothers and the people who, although they try to intervene, understood the "depth" of their relationship (not necessarily the details of what their relationship entail).

Soine Lovers

Complete | Iimo | 2017 released

1. An idol meets an unexpected male fan thru a one night lover show where he has to sleep (literally) with a fan for a night. The idol ends up offering sex because he was attracted by his fan. 2. Left with his father's debt, a re encounter with a rich kid who made an offer to do whatever he wants in exchange of being paid until he pays his debt. 3. Divorced overseas which pushed him into a drunken mess, he wakes up in a room, kidnapped and told to be with his kidnapper for 25 years until he loves him back. Turns out, his kidnapper was kidnapped for 25 years and has "fallen in love" with his captor (Stockholm's syndrom) and it was his fault. When they were kids, he was almost kidnapped but pointed at aonther kid which saved himself but caused his present captor to be kidnapped by a pedophile. Nonetheless, his captive's revenge was nulled by his unintentional efforts to teach him about adulthood/independece and was returned to society. When he realized the truth upon waking at the hospital, he returned to his ex-captor and promised to he with him, without being in captive. 4. A tragic domino effect that started from a scientist who cloned his dead lover but could not be satisfied by his clone so he committed suicide. The clone made a clone of the scientist and projected what the original scientist kept demanding from him, violent sex. In the end, the cloned scientist somehow regained "his memories" and chased after him

It's a complicated relationship between Yuzuro and Koutaro. They've met once before, yet Yuzuro's imposed duty to care for his older brother caused him to push Koutaro away. Years after, the two meets again in high school. But this time, the older brother gets to meet Koutaro and Koutaro begins to understand why Yuzuro acts the way he does. On top of that, Koutaro and Yuzuro are about to fulfill the promise they both thought were null and forgotten. [Complicated. Intriguing.]
