Silent Color

It has depth in terms of emotion but Yang is the only fleshed out character here. Qing's condition doesn't manifest itself until it was explained. The use of color in the sounds he hear could've helped in showing his condition and could add to its beautiful art. It could even be made clear as to why he kept rejecting Yang when they first met. He left without an explanation and came back all of a sudden, too. Like, why? Xiao's role is a little confusing. It's like, I understand that he was going to an obstacle, telling Qing that Yang wasn't going to love him. But at the same time, the jump of his importance to Yang (to the point of being a reason for Yang to leave even when he likes Qing and Xiao or the bar didn't seem to be something Yang really desired to leave for.) The mother is given a redemption filler even if it sounds pretentious and does not really justify anything from the past, rather just another reason to dislike her. Anyway, the art and basic plot is admireable.

Kono Koi ni Mirai wa nai

Complete | MORIHASHI Bingo,SUWARU Koko | 2000 released

It deals with identity. A man who loathes his body because he desires to be a woman. A writer who aims to leave a masterpiece like a genius dying young. A tomboy dressing feminine for a man she desires. An infertile woman who desires to choose her path but chose to be obedient. This isn’t even BL, but it does show a man loving another. This is a story about three “women” desiring a man who couldn’t love.

I'm Yours, Blood and Soul

Complete | GyaGa | 2000 released

Satisfying even until the end. It’s funny how even until the end, the vampire is held ‘hostage’ by the devil. Be it his blood or his soul, just like the title. Even so, the author made it that the devil is loyal and not some sort of manipulative bastard who keeps undermining his lover (even if it somehow looks like that). God be damned, that bittersweet end made the whole experience even better! This manhua really fleshed how vile humans can be and yet how valuable they are to demons

Kokoro O Korosu Houhou

Complete | kashio | 2014 released

Fun to write. Scarring to read. Traumatic trigger. I know I shouldn’t have completed it nor did I dare to read it. But I thought I was already fine and this could end in a way that Haruki could break free and live a life away from Hikaru. But why? Why does it have to end like this? I can’t even fully reject nor deny this possibility because I know how much of it could truly happen... how binding it is and how apathetic response lead to more drastic choices like Haruki tempting Hikaru. As much as I’m glad that Hanabasu doesn’t have to deal with a dreadful burden, his actions have pushed Haruki to fall deeper. This is messed up and I’d rather have not fucking read it. But I already did so I’ll just bury it in my memories.

Killing Stalking

Complete | koogi | 2016 released

mmm. Wow. I finally read it through. 2 years ago, I wouldnt have been able to. But I guess the mind learns to cope and now Ive finished it. although the ending feels weird, like it keeps replaying in my head. a deja vu even if I havent read it before. also, i love it ️ twisted and gives it to you as it is. it is not romantic. it doesnt idealize loving your abuser because both of them are already twisted since the beginning.

Nanohana Boys

Complete | Ppyong | 2000 released

I love this so much even if there are a few loose ends. The amount of courage displayed here balanced the tragic realities we hope to confront ourselves. Prejudices and discrimination are difficult to erase but this tries to battle them as individuals. It’s not as idealized or shown through rosy-tinted lenses. Kenji and Yu battled them out in ways that they are able. For a boy who has never felt loved and treasured, Kenji feared to be betrayed by Yu’s kindness and his own yearning to depend on someone else. And Yu, who gains Kenji’s trust slowly without asserting himself like a hero I often see are portrayed on stories like this. Yu looks for allies to help him make his desire to help Kenji a reality. It’s not the sort of impulsive dreamy-eyed willfulness to pull someone away from their problem. He puts into consideration what might happen next and Yu’s patience never ran out. It’s understandable if it was for pity and the sort to make himself feel good, but it went beyond that. Thank you for creating this!

An Uncomfortable Truth

Complete | EErun | 2016 released

The art makes it more uncomfortable. It makes the problems mundane. It doesn't feel like a thriller because it looks more of a fluffy and wholesome manhwa. However, I see that as it's ironic charm. It's easier to ignore the depth of the problem when the art makes everything feel light. That's why it feels anti-climatic but this is indeed an uncomfortable story.

This is my take. Read it as if your inside Rin's head.

He, Him & Us

Complete | Scarf | 2016 released

For one thing, the art is phenomenal. The plot is dragging and is mostly dialogue. It's frustrating and tends to victim blame. It has family issues and foreboding obsessive-possessive traits that endagers life. Personally, I feel like the characters blab on and on redundantly which makes the art fade in the background even if its beautiful. The overall plot is great though. It gives you a healthy premature end where the MC is freed from a potentially more toxic relationship.
