Work, Fight and Love

Complete | YOO Ha Jin | 2000 released

the dialogue is perfect. the emotions are justified and i can't help myself from absorbing their pain, love, and happiness. there are more to it than just love triangle and misunderstandings. here, there is maturity in loving and confronting the insecurities that are often mentioned in most yaoi plots: like having kids, being possessive, being clingy or whiny, and being accountable of the choices that you've made. sure, I was heartbroken but the execution justified how it concluded and for the first time, im happy for all the characters. there is satifaction and warmth. as if im being enveloped in a warm and tight embrace. ️ Reread: i was too indulgent. The woman literally had everyone suffer, or at least triggered their suffering, just coz she was suffering. She hated ppl finding their happiness just because she couldnt...and the men had their emotions tragically played. Main couple was saved when the girl left, but now... the other guy has to suck it up as he lost both. Fck.

shades captor

the flow of dialogue is confusing and even the plot is all the place. the author made an ambitious attempt to blend sherlock holmes with a distinct storyline that does not match. it may look like it's well blended because their lives intertwine but it doesnt because the story of xiaowei, xaiofeng, xiao, and mi sheng could stand on its own.

From Points of Three

Complete | White Eared | 2017 released

the second story doesnt feel complete, as if there's a foreshadowing in that last panel. But still, I enjoyed reading it and learning how psychologically confusing role playing could be. also, Heejae is literally the man who screams wolf or how the idiom goes. Its amazing how Jisuh can maintain his relationship with him after being manipulated by Heejae. not only that, they can still roleplay and have Heejae dominate him (the only sign that Heejae changed is how Jisuh can also dominate him in terms of the relationship)

A Thousand Cranes

Complete | Jung Seokchan | 2000 released

Should I start folding a thousand crane, too? I live for this content! Craig is not paranoid and it's true that he has his own guilt and regret eats him but he knows to think. My heart is also bleeding for Dean and I'm glad that he was able to keep holding on to Craig even when his nightmares could make him violent. Actually, it won't even surprise me he becomes violent against Craig because of his anxiety and nightmares. But no, he holds him more gently afterwards, wanting Craig to feel at ease. because this is true love, wanting to be a better person for someone you love

Back to School

Complete | Oryu | 2019 released

tbh, i didnt like how passive chiwoo was until i understood why he seemed incapable of taking action. although i admit, i expected too much from him. poor boy, he suffered from Jihyun's twisted expression of love. thus, im so happy whenever Kyujin appears and saves Chiwoo from breaking down under Jihyun's pressure. also, I'm glad that it ended this way. no, i dont want to ship chiwoo with jihyun because the latter is filled with hatred and violence. he isnt fit for any romantic relationship at all. but a "what if" situation could work for me because if Chiwoo confronted Jihyun's feelings then it could habe changed their future even just a little. Im happy for Chiwoo and Kyujin. Just like Chiwoo, i also hope that thoigh therenare acts that are unforgivable, Jihyun could redeem himself and grow to be a better person than his father. im just glad Jihyun still has a big brother looking out for him.

Raising a Bat

Complete | Jade | 2015 released

the lack of communication occurs 70% of the time and i witnessed agonizing push and pull between the characters. im glad that even when Mingweon was emotionally compromised and ran away, he was anchored by his lover, lover's family, and sister. Most of the characters are problematic but the author does not romanticize them. the author shows just how difficult it is for a relationship to last when there is no communication and trust. and i like that about this. it showed character development, realistic concerns, and growth.

Never Understand

Complete | Bbong | 2013 released

For once, I read something that addressed the bullies instead of just blaming the attractive one which the bullies use as an excuse to bully. It was funny, frustrating, and made me furious. But I loved how Jaemin and Yuri's relationship strengthened. Im unsure about how i feel for the archer and the narcissist but i guess theyre supposed to have a happy ending. Also Jumin and the other guy is so cute hahaha. But i cant deny how furious i was when the red read bullied Jumin because of his cowardice. Gah, im glad he apologized and made it that he doesnt hurt Jumin again. By the way, that girl had it coming to her. She's not even aware of her mistakes so let her be punished for it until she becomes aware of it. That silver haired hyung was let off too easily. I already assumed that he raped Jaemin, and maybe the poor boy is just too mentally strong to get over that but what the fuck? Anyway, he redeemed himself slightly when he settled the aftermath and broke up with Sayeon.

The Perfect Relationship

Complete | Akkang, Sam | 2017 released

Hmm... Hyukjoon-ah... Love and hate are extreme emotions. You can't separate those two. Minseo, your mentality is really... Strong.

Stalker's Game

Complete | TAN | 2000 released

I do not hate it nor do I love it, but I am enthralled by their relationship. To a reader, the slow build up of imprint by the stalker has less impact than to the actual MC. That's why even if it is predictable for Hyungsung to be dependent on his stalker and the stalker becomes too attached to Hyunsung, they're relationship still ends up being ambiguous (but leaning on a positive interpretation).

Incidentally Living Together

Complete | Shin Yuri | 2000 released

Judging the story alone, Junwoo deserved better but since his story is already written, I can only be frustrated of his past rather than his present. This is sensitive and though it is fiction, the element of flow and consistency is vital. One does not simply make it work through convenience. By the time, Wooyeon shares his own issue and Junwoo was given this vision of picking himself up... In order to chase after Wooyeon, I have lost my interest. The whole segment after was rushed and unnatural. But well, don't take my personal take on it as a spiteful response. I was simply disappointed at how the ending played out as a montage, dettaching itself from the dragged out scenes of their cohabitation.
