frustrating to read. It will build you up then lets go of the conflict because they just run away. As if the author gave up on resolving it. Inconsistent details and is runabout. It gives you an expectation which it doesnt live up to.

If anything, it's tragic. The plot is promising and although complicated, it managed to become comprehensive even if I'm personally unsatisfied in the end.

Kyon becomes a servant for a half-zero royal blood. He goes his way to disobey his master because of his desire to get to know him, the savior he knew when he was young, when a Zero killed his family. Lucaon, a hunter who had to kill his father who was poisoned and turned into a zero, grew to be hateful and distrustful of servants. Thus, he projected his hate on Kyon, the nosy servant who remains by his side even if he is rape and abused. The two ends up deeply in love amidst secrets unearthing. Sihan and Karis are master and servant yet they are lovers, too. Sihan is overprotective, but Karis is stubbornly reiterating that he is strong enough to do his job as a servant and hunter. These two are the wholesome couples. Ryan is Lucaon and Sihan's guardian. The man who basically watched over Lucaon's family since his parents. He also saved Sihan from captivity and turned him into a royal blood. He also took in a servant, Christoff who ends up being the root of all suffering, even his death. Nonetheless, Christoff was a pawn, brainwashed and ordered. But Christoff fell in love with Ryan and before he knew that he caused Ryan's corruption and ultimate death, Ryan had his memory wiped from Christoff's mind, along the other traces he left. Cecilia, a familt friend of sorts, comes in later to tie the loose ends of Ryan's death and would take over as the guardian of Sihan and Lucaon. Anyway, it had a plot regarding the family's poisoning incident and also the mission to make an antidote. Midway through, it became character-oriented instead. The truth came up and it ends there, antidote is not taken care of anymore.

Valerie is traumatized by his magic teacher's prophecy despite wanting to be someone special as a reincarnated person. Hence, she became lethargic as she avoid standing out. However, as a cliche romance unfold between an isekai woman and a powerful man, she becomes entangled with them thru an unexpected engagement with the powerful man. Contrary to her misunderstandings, the truth behind the woman wasn't as stereotypical as she thought. Her constant misunderstanding stresses her, but ultimately realizes that she can't keep jumping into conclusions despite her fears.

the stars are for the empress, the lack of it is because of how annoying the emperor is as well as the slow and almost dilly dallying progress. it's 73 chaps yet almost nothing significant happens besides befriending the fave concubine, escaping death for the nth time w/o progress from the investigation, garnering the emperor's interest (emphasis on cringy blushing and delulus despite having done nothing so helpful for her) and still leaving a lot of gaps as to why she's being targeted or hated by emperor (with this pace, it's going to take 200 chaps to know at least 80% of what's going on)

Diligent yet never catching a break, Jaegun found his luck after cleaning after a burial mound. Bringing home a cat named Rika and equipped with old tools by an unpublished novelist, he gains more experience as a writer and as a person. More so when his career slowly unravels the man buried in the mound.
