Non romanticized sexual assault, really gruesome and uncomfortable. Sex worker sold off at the age of 9 because people are disgusting omg, meets a client who is a hitman and they run away together. Him healing from the trauma by repressing his memories and having night terrors was both believable and tragic. They stay together through it all so its bittersweet. Well made.

Omg this was well written, depressingly realistic, and traumatic af. I cannot believe this CHILDS MOM/maternal figure LET HER FIANCE TURNED HUSBAND RAPE him just to not be lonely. That bitch, she deserved the death she got tbh. The husband, should have been imprisoned and tortured for life. My poor ML, all the trauma leads him to sex work and fucking his own step brother. I did not ship it, he clearly took advantage of him when he was in a vulnerable psychological state.

This makes me itch, it's incredibly uncomfortable especially with how easily the ML overpowers him. It's like watching Mike Tyson beat his wife. I just need to see if grandma survives chemo but I have a feeling shell die and then they'll use that as a way to show how supportive ML can be which is gross. Poor protagonist and poor grandma. /// I keep reading this in the odd hope (like other trope series) that MAYBE just MAYBE the protagonist will realize the abuse and walk away or the ML will see how horrible they are and remove themselves/free the other person. But also no, it gets worse every chapter and doc is just gaslighting himself into thinking this is love. Awful but for whatever reason I'm holding out for the ending to see the big fight/split I'm SCREAMING FOR.
