Absolutely NO SMUT.
You'll see nothing exciting there guys, but the story is popping, and the art is beautiful!
Idk how many readers/students of mythology there are out that read this buuuuut, the FL is named after a specific Ghanaian trickster God, (anansi/ananse the spider.) who is usually accompanied by a side kick. FL's side kick is named "Mmotia" which are actually just Ghanaian fairies lol
Then you have another character, male, who was from an ice land, who's name is 'Skahdi' after a mythological jötun goddess of Norse mythology; ice land of sorts!! <3
not to mention the sexiest male main character, is named "solteo" which in Spanish, means "single/the only one." And well...he is the only one left, as well as the only TRULY special one to our FL!!
As for the bad guy, he is named 'Alecto' which is a the name of a Greek goddess of vengeance, who usually has snakes for hair like Medusa.
The whole story revolves around a goddess, and I love how the author threw in other goddesses and turned them into embodiments of characters!!
I thought this was gonna be a painful read because "slaves" and "me being sensitive to it" and all that, but ...I was so incredibly wrong. This author really took african folklore, and tied it all together... especially when you realize that Norse, and Africans met at one point in history and it had been documented long ago. The part of Africa where it was documented looks a lot like where the setting of this story could be taking place!!!
Gah, I'm nerding too much, go see for yourself.
Basically, a 10/10 reccommend!
There's also mention of a freaking mermaid!!
All in all, the story is beautiful. Wonderfully priced together. Amazingly drawn. Wish I could find more like this!!
If I could make a tiny complaint, because hey, I can't help myself.. as a perv:
I'd love it more if there was a little more action with bodies displayed, but I'm also with it the way it was without it!!
