It's cute but also tragic. Show the life of old japanese couple through flashbacks while the husband is possibly dying (of old age). The person they lost due to war and people they won in the way (for husband: the kindess and tenacity of his parents as also his brother; for the wife; all her family sacrifice to giver her a life (and their others loved ones) and also the tenacity of every of the members of het family).
Downs and ups along all the way but the other to gave support when need it, but i'ts time. It's just life.
