He only gave up after Hyeon jumped in the water w him even tho Hyeon couldn’t save him cuz of his penalty period for using his special power. Once Hyeon confessed his love for Yiseon, only then did he give up on dying. It was such a beautiful moment. U could see the pain on Hyeon’s face.
