Just started reading this webtoon, and I have to say that I am furious with Layla's fiancee, he is a piece of trash. I'm currently on ch 37, but her husband is hella obsessed with Sisele, the princess from the doomed kingdom who pretends to be pregnant. Basically Layla is a girl who got engaged to Philen William from a young age, the duke and duchess of William took her in and brought her up. However the duke and the duchess die during a storm on their way home on a carriage, both Philen and Layla become depressed. Philen locks himself up on the training grounds, Layla takes up the duties and responsibilities instead of Philen. However a war starts with a kingdom nearby (a little unsure about this but there's a war), and Philen leaves for war and after 6 years he comes back....with a woman on his lap, who appears to be pregnant. The pregnant woman is named Sisily and is the princess of the kingdom that fell during the war. Philen tells Layla that he will kick Sisily out after she gives birth, but never leaves her side and does a lot of favors for her. Like buying her cake, clothes and jewellery. Layla gets to know the emperor, who offers her a job as his assistant after she aces the test that he arranges. Now she has also told Philen that she wants to break the engagement and left his side, however Philen believes that she'll come back. Philen is really bad at work and gets jealous when people in his territory praises Layla's work and authority. 4/8-2024

This story is about how Choi Suna gets pushed down the stairs by her brother and gets reincarnated into a novel that she has read called "My stepbrothers are obsessed with me", where she wakes up as Edith, the villainess of the story. Since she has read the story before she knows that she will end up marrying the second male lead of the main story and end up being killed by him in the end, however she tries to change the story line. Her family in the story hates her husbands family and sends her so that she can give them confidential information, however she lures them and doesn't give them any information, however the info gets leaked and she gets accused of leaking said documents. More stuff happens in which she gets accused of doing and she proves again and again that she isn't guilty. Eventually she wants to tell the Duchess/mother-in-law that she got abused in her family and her childhood wasn't good, meaning she wanted to tell her about her background story however that's when the plotline stops her and tells her that she only able to tell the truth only when she is able to fulfill the 3 conditions set. 1st condition is to seduce her husband, which in the story would have made him disgusted but instead he sleeps with her. 2nd condition: she has to reject his offer 10 times, which she fulfills, also ends up with her sleeping with him. 3rd condition is for her to give up and accept her execution which leads for her to survive. Anyways we find out that the original author posessed Rhyse and was setting Edith up in every situation. The male lead/husband, named Killian, is the second lead in Rhyse's story. He finds it disgusting to be forced to be wed to Edith in the beginning, he is always spewing mean words towards Edith and is always suspicious of her. But with time he starts taking her side and eventually falls head over heals for her. He even gets anxious when she rejects his offers to do things together. He is so cute. Anyways, there's a happy ending, Edith gets pregnant in the end, and Killian gets to become a Duke because Cliff the older brother leaves the novel to search for his Rhyse.

I decided I wanted to read this webtoon because I had seen a lot of reels in which the male is depicted as this toxic male lead that won’t even leave his wife alone even in death. In this story there’s a crippled female lead called Chloe Verdier, she is of low rank in noble society and has come to terms with the fact that no man would want to marry a crippled woman. One day, during war, her father lets the army led by Damian Ernst von Thisse, to take refuge in his castle. While the soldiers are in the castle the eldest daughter, the crippled, takes care of them and gives them medical care even if the soldiers talk shit behind her back. One afternoon she secretely watches as Damian gives his soldiers a pep talk and gets mesmerized, at the end of his speech he looks up at the window she is in and she hides from him. The next morning she goes early to the forest to get some medicinal herbs and bumps into Damian. In which he assumes that her father has sent her to seduce him into marriage and so on. She tells him that that’s not true. He takes her cane, which she uses to walk, and uses it to stab a snake and in the process breaks it. She tells him to get her a new one from the birch trees from his estate after he has won the war and is back home. 3 years later he invites her family to a party, only she and her sister go, her sister is very mischievous and causes some drama in these types of events. Well in the estate where the party is held, her sister gets invited to a dance and when Duke Damian comes into the room he invites Chloe for a dance, but since she is a cripple she politely refuses, however he pesters her about the dance, his cousin the prince comes and rescues her from his pestering for a dance and asks her about her sister. That’s when she notices that her sister is nowhere in sight, Damian offers to help look for her, and they search for hee in the garden, in the garden they find her sister Alice kissing a bohemian named Eddy. Eddy runs away and Alice gets sent home, Chloe asks for Damian’s discretion lest her family get into a scandal. He refuses at first but gives in when she tells him that she will do anything if he is quiet about this. 3 months later: She is writing a letter about how she is happy as to him being quiet and her sister being in the process of engagement to a lord Cormier. However before she is about to send it they get the news that he is coming to hunt in their forest. He demands that Chloe guides him in the forest while they hunt because her father boasts about Chloe’s knowledge of their forest. During the hunt he gets injured and he wants Chloe to stitch him up, she wants to refuse but is unable to so she stitches him up. While doing so Chloe tells him that he is arrogant and egotistical if he believes that every woman in the country is dying to get marrried to him, he tells that he'd like to test her theory. The next day he proposes marriage to her sister Alice. Alice doesn't want to marry him and confesses to Chloe that she has become pregnant with Eddy's child, and doesn't know what she is supposed to do. She later runs away from home, Gilles their servant helps her escape. Chloe goes to Damian's home with a new proposal, for him to marry her instead of her sister, he accepts. They get married, but as soon as they say their vows he leaves her for the city and lets her be in her own home in Verdier, as a dowry he takes the forest close to the estate, because Chloe has a fondness for that forest. She is left in her father's home for months and gets to read the Red Veil, in which there is a rumour about Damian, now her husband, having an affair with a marchioness called Isabella. She tells herself, what did I expect would happen anyway, and keeps on living her life. All the while Damian is thinking what is my wife thinking seeing this rumour newspaper, he sends her a letter telling her to go home to his estate and perform her duchess duties. she gets escorted by Gilles, her family's loyal servant, and tells him to go back home. She meets her husband mother, who is a little eccentric. She starts doing the duchess duties, and finds out that some of the estate's goods are being stolen by the servant called Eliza and fires her. However she gives her a recommendation letter for her next job. His mother gets upset and leaves for a villa. Damian comes back, and accuses her for having a romantic relationship with her servant, Gilles, since he hasn't left to go back to Verdier but is instead working at the train station. He offers to give Gilles a job as a servant in the Thisse estate is she kisses him, which she does. Damian invites women over to skate, and one of the women are Isabella. Chloe is okay with it, however there's an accident happening in which Chloe almost gets drowned, Damian rescues her. When she wakes up, she tries to approach Isabella, however walks into a moment in which Isabella is saying "I love you" to her husband and leaves. Her husband at that moment was telling Isabella that there was nothing between them, and that the rumours about them was a ruse to get information on the royal family. Chloe being dissapointed and sad goes to visit Gilles in his cottage and accidentally falls asleep there. The next day, Isabella found in her room murdered, adn teh arsenic, poison is found in Chloe's room. She tells the prosecuter that she is not the culprit. But is in despair cuz there is no witness except for Gilles, but there would be a weird scandal if it was found out that she spent a night in her servants cottage. Hence she keeps quiet, her husband comes into her room and tells her that he can help her if she begs for his help. She turns to him and tells him that she'd like her execution to be in private. In the trial he saves her and Chloe falls for him for saving her life. That's when they have sex for the first time. Eventually she falls in love with him, head over heels. She gets pregnant. However at one point she finds out all his secrets, how he found out that there was a gold mine in the Verdier forests, that he was the one who framed her for Isabellas murder and so on and so forth. She gets infected by an infectious disease and falls ill, she tells her doctor that she doesn't want to take any medicine if it's gonna harm the baby. However Damian insists she takes the medicine and assures her that a Thisse won't be that weak. After the miscarriage Chloe now has nothing to tethering her to Thisse. She asks for divorce, Damian refuses, she asks to go back to Verdier, he refuses. She stills loves him but also hates him. So when he leaves for some business getting the King title away from his cousin, who is crazy and who has ran away, that's when Chloe makes a plan to escape. She gets Eliza's help to get a body and puts it in a villa and starts a fire, then she leaves the mansion. When Damian comes back to find his wife's burned body. He gets crowned the new king, while he mourns his wife's death. at one point he digs up his wife's coffin and realizes that his wife is alive and goes off to find her. All the while Chloe is in the neighbouring kingdom, her sister is married to the King, apparantly Eddy the bohemian was in secret a king. Anyways Damian finds her and convinces her that all he did was out of love for her and that she was in love with him too. They get back together, there's some minor drama with the cousin, but he gets shot by Chloe in the end. They live happily ever after, Chloe becomes the Queen and gives birth to twins. ️
