Shingeki no Kyojin

Complete | ISAYAMA Hajime | 2009 released

When I was around 15 years old I first saw the first episode of Attack On Titan because I had promised my best friend to see the first episode in exchange for her watching the first episode of a Kdrama that I had recommended at the time. After I saw the first episode I felt hella scared and was weirded out by the way Eren's mom dies in the first episode. After a year later my online friends were hyping it out saying stuff like the second season was out and that they were watching it so I gave it another chance and rewatched the first episode and saw the half of the first season but I just couldn't make myself keep watching so much violence or so many people being killed by ugly ass titans eating them. It was still gross for me to watch or just comprehend the fact that this was an okay thing to watch. This year, I'm 20 years old, I started the dentist programme, my first term. We had online school the first term so I decided, since I spent most of my days cooped up in my student room to start watching anime. I saw The Promised Neverland (only the first season mind you), Jujutsu Kaisen and I thought why not give Attack on Titan a chance. So I rewatched the Attack on Titan season 1 all over again, this time I watched the whole season 1 and 2 and even reached season 3 part 2 episode 8 and came to the conclusion that I needed to read the manga. Because then I'll get to know more in detail about stuff that I was missing, when I started reading the manga it was the same thing, mysteries all over the place, it was no different from the anime, at the beginning but the more I read the more I got to see. I got to know some details that I hadn't seen before, I got to know everybody's backstories, I got to know their point of view. It felt nice to actually get to see both sides of the story. While getting to know both sides of the story I got even more sad because now I wasn't only sad when the main characters on the "good side" died but also characters on the "enemy side". I didn't want them to die, none of them, they all deserved to live, even Eren. Eren whom I hated for being so self-righteous and arrogant and a suicidal blockhead. He changed over the years, and I saw that fiery temper in the "enemy side". Gabi is Eren. They grew up in almost the same conditions and reacted the same way, I don't blame her nor hate her. I loved a few other people like: *Jean* Because even though he thought about himself in the beginning, he changed his course and started fighting, and even though he got rejected by the girl that he's been in love he still respected her feelings. I love that horseface. *Sasha* for reminding me of the way I love food and that she can show that side to all her friends. She was a naive idiot. *Ymir* for being a brave whamen through and through. For loving Historia and encouraging her to live a live the way she wanted to. *Connie* for being a loyal idiot who does things right even though he wants to give up from time to time. *Annie* for showing her inner self at last. She was not just some cold-blooded warrior, just a person who wanted to go back home to her father. *Reiner* who even though he realized his father didn't want him didn't want to dissapoint his mother and continued to risk his life for her. So that she could live out her delusional life. *Bertholt* for fighting until the end and trying to protect Reiner. *Hange* for her loving those titans, and even though she was tired she didn't stop fighting. *Levi* what can I say? He is a badass. *Erwin* Even though he worked so hard to reach that basement and he was so close to it, he still gave it up so that they could win and so that the rest of the world could see what lied there in the basement. *Marco* even though he appeared a bit in the manga, he still had a major role. He was the leader that they never got to have. I finally finished reading this manga and I'm happy I did :) - 2/08-2021 (00:50)
