I adore coming-of-age stories, and this one was quite engaging. The idea of falling in love simply because someone smells nice is such a unique and powerful touch. It’s also great to see a supportive and encouraging network around the characters. However, the subplot involving the mom felt a bit odd and unnecessary. On the bright side, I’m glad to see both characters grow individually and as a couple.

A guy who thinks he’s a top ends up as a bottom and becomes a housewife. It’s amusing how he’s transported into his favorite story and gets to live with his fictional lover. Then he’s shockingly murdered by his best friend, who’s in love with him in the book, only to return to his own reality. But he asks the best friend’s sister for help, and she decides to throw the book into the ocean, trapping him there. It’s a clever way to wrap up the story. The mafia subplot feels a bit out of place, but at least it adds some extra drama.
