Dropped
Plot: Although Ilene Jung is a popular webtoon artist, she needs another job. A crappy desk job to be exact, one tyrannically controlled by the meanest manager in the world: Jim Kang. He insults her work, refuses to teach her, and even makes her miss an important appointment by forcing her work late on her very first day. To make things worse, when Jim applies to become an artist’s assistant, the artist turns out to be Ilene! In a begrudging twist of fate, she accepts him and the two enter a bizarre working relationship both at home and at the office. How long can it last? Why is Ilene working a desk job? And who’s the boss here anyways?!
Forced myself to get to chapter 12.
Okay first off, I immediately was getting the vibe that the manager (ML) would be sort of cold. Cool. But the way it didn’t get any better and he didn’t offer any sort of help to the FL who had just been employed as a worker for his company. The set up of t(e plot wasn’t too good and had too many plot holes. First, how can she be employed to a job and have no prior knowledge of the type of work? She didn’t know what to do, how could they just throw her in there without offering her help and expecting her to just know how to do it. Even when she told them she didn’t? Second, why did she need a day job when she is a comic artist? She said it wasn’t for money, so what was the problem? Third, the art. I wasn’t a fan, but it wasn’t terrible, since everyone has their own style of course. Finally, the dialogue… it was questionable and cringy, the ML changed his whole act once he found out the FL was the comic artist he admired so deeply. But he still didn’t get better when they went back to the office. He would then revert back to being all nice and cringy when he met her as his fav author?
Yes, My Boss!
