I hate the "family". If they were such good people they'd at least push for other families to treat their slaves better. Even better they'd not buy slaves themselves and instead try to change the whole system. I guess really that's me being frustrated by Japanese culture of saying and doing nothing even if you see evil happening around you though.
After ch12 I decided to drop it. After the tragedy things just switched up to being light hearted and it felt like too quick of a shift, in a weird way I felt I couldn't connect to or trust the story anymore.
