Skip the first several chapters it is too sad Also, love that this includes therapy, that's such an important component of treating trauma because love alone cannot deal with that level of pain

It's a bittersweet story in many parts, but ends happy! For those who hate how long manga never resolve any plot points, this is long but does have short enough story arcs inside it so you don't feel annoyed for waiting forever to find out an ending.

That "mother" pretends to care for him but only gets involved in his life to make it worse

I kind of regret becoming invested in this story. It has so many beautiful relationships and wholesome moments, but he's an elf so everyone he becomes close to has a short lifespan. I've shed a lot of tears on this.
