Itou-san (KURAKA Sui)
Wow, this was honestly pretty good. The whole concept was really interesting and I liked how the author executed it. The plot of the story was heartbreaking, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering just how everything was going to play out, there was a few issues with pacing in later chapters but I'm not sure if it was the authors doing or more of the uploaders mistake. The art style was nice though, it is a pretty basic one, that follows a lot of classic manga style standards, but it was good. I loved the way the author drew their facial expression, especially Ito's eyes, the shock you would get when you see those few scenes with his eyes open CHILLS. Overall this was a good read, especially with heavy themes like prostitution and being controlled, the author made it work for the story. I'm not sure how I felt about the author erasing Kyousuke's memories, but I see that it was necessary if they wanted to give him the chance at a normal life, without those hardships and past traumas put on him. This type of genre is definitely not for everyone but I enjoyed it and would reccomend for anyone who is ok with these types of themes.
Sei no Gekiyaku
Since this is technically "ongoing" I have no idea how this ends, HOWEVER, I did watch the live-action? The movie? IDK, whatever it's called I watched it, and tbh not my cup of tea. I think just seeing REAL actors acting out these kinds of situations just makes me ULTRA uncomfy. So I read the manga right after and have to say that I definitely enjoyed the manga more, HOWEVER, it still goes to stand that this is not my favorite genre so I didn't enjoy it as much as I have other manga. The plot was interesting but this is just not my thing.
Peter Pan
Wow. This was unbelievable, this was so compelling and I loved how everything was revealed at the end. The art is well done, and this excaptured the underlying dark nature of Peter Pan's story in such an amazing way.
Unknown (taratsumi John)
I really need to start looking at the tags before starting a new manga, I am not a big fan of one-shots especially multiple story one-shots. I find it a bit confusing and it skips over crucial parts of each story that I want to know more about but can't because its a one-shot :( HOWEVER, I did enjoy reading this one, I was not expecting it to be as dark as it was but those themes were not unwelcomed. There were stories that I liked more than others though, Chapter 6 was definitely my favorite, I really loved the plot, the characters, and the overall message within the story. There is also, just something about chapters 2 and 5 that made me really like those stories. I liked the way those were set up (plot-wise) and how they were told because this author really has a way with words. Also, the ART STYLE is so cool and very well done, there is just something about it that really helped give the story the "dark themes" they had. Overall this wasn't a bad read, I might even go read some of this author's other works.
