My Home Your Oneroom

Complete | Tsukizuki Yoshi | 2017 released

This was a pretty good read, for the most part, we had good characters, an interesting plot, and nice art. The pacing kinda threw me off just because everything is so straightforward, like how they get into a relationship, and how the story felt like it progressed so fast. This felt like an incredibly short read, which may sound stupid bc DUH of course it's short bc it only has 5 chapters but still which how everything progressed I SPED thru the story. Anyway, I liked the characters especially that one particular side character (seriously he deserves more credit he's an awesome friend), and I liked the art style, the character design is well done and so pleasing to look at. Overall this wasn't a bad story but ngl I actually really liked the one-shot at the end ( maybe even more than the main :/ ).

A Shoulder to Cry On

Complete | Dongmul | 2000 released

This was just a REALLY great yet fucked up story, that did an amazing job depicting one of the main characters' traumas and showing us their character development. I read this for pain and hurt and the author delivered, Taehyun is just a very messed up character who needed help and I love how the author depicted his mental state, and actually SHOWED us the reason behind it. At the same time, I also liked how depicted Dayeol's trauma, because his is just more real and relatable and made us sympathize with him. A few people were disappointed with the ending but I really felt that it was well done and really fits the story. Both characters though they do show clear signs of character development, are still struggling with their traumas, and just because they did get together, that doesn't mean all their problems will be solved overnight. Through the author leaving us with a more open ending, it shows us that they were able to make it that far and still will have many problems to work on but they are happy now, and it leaves us on a hopeful note. Also, the art style for this is IMMACULATE, it is so well done and I LOVE the coloring. The character design and even scenery is so well done, despite some of the characters being hella shitty, they are all just soooo good looking. Overall this was a pretty good read, and I'd totally recommend this to anyone who likes these sorts of psychological trauma BL's.

Outsider Communication

Complete | Natsume tsuno | 2019 released

Oh man, I really liked this one, the plot was so sweet and gave me the fluff I need every once in a while. This is just a cute innocent love story between two opposites, and some moments had me squealing. The relationship progression doesn't feel rushed and the plot was interesting. The art style and character design are well done too, I especially loved the panel where the author drew the main characters with an outfit switch. Thank you author-san for including the last extra chapter bc that fed me well and was so sweet!!! I highly recommend this for any BL lover who wants something sweet and fluffy or if you're a bit new to it and want something lighter.

Konosaki wa Futarikiride

Complete | MACHIO Yu | 2019 released

This manga was absolutely amazing, the way the author depicted their relationship made it seem so relatable and realistic. There was no unnecessary drama or toxic situations happening like they usually do, this plot was like a breath of fresh air. You could see the dynamic and relationship of the characters grow in an uncrushed solid way. And the ART!!! The authors art style is is adorable and simplistic, I love their character designs, and the way they draw facial expressions really helped convey all the characters emotions very well. This was so well done and beautiful, I have zero complaints with this manga. I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it to any BL reader.

Ookami-kun wa hanasanai

Ore, Sono Kao Kirai Desu

Complete | Koikawa | 2018 released

This was ... interesting. I am not sure how I feel about this because this isn't selfcest but it really does feel like selfcest and for a hot minute I got scared because I thought it WAS incest between brothers but thank goodness it wasn't!!! Overall I actually really enjoyed this because while there were some questionable things (like the underlying selfcest) the plot was entertaining. While this wasn't a heavy themed life lesson story there was a concept that I feel like most people can resonate within the manga that I enjoyed reading. I also liked watching everything unfold, like watching the changes in the main characters' relationship, seeing the main characters' past "flings" pop up and introduce themselves, and seeing why the main character acts the way he acts. And the ART!!! This art style is amazing and so unique, most BL manga has very similar and distinct features that overlap with each other, and while this one did contain that "essence" it had its own unique qualities (like a cartoonish feel, but also very distinct facial features). Overall I did enjoy this though some things were a bit questionable.

Kiyona Yubisaki, Bukiyona Tsumasaki

Complete | Sakuragi Yaya | 2000 released

This was so sweet and wholesome, I really enjoyed reading this one, my serotonin levels rose!!! While it isn't too rare, we don't usually get to see many healthy BL relationships, but this author served. The reason most mangas don't depict healthy relationships is that they focus on the main conflict (drama and trauma) to make the story entertaining and interesting. This author however managed to make a really good entertaining story without all the unnecessary drama, and we got to see a relatively realistic and healthy relationship between the main characters. I think the overall plot was pretty unique and a great way to introduce the main characters, I like how they were able to "break a stereotype" for these characters, and I love how open-minded they made them. I also really liked how the author didn't force the main characters' relationship to revolve around sex, that one scene was more like an addition, and a way to show intimacy and growth between the two characters' relationship. The art style for this manga was also pretty well done, you can definitely tell what year this manga came out because of it, but none-the-less I liked the character designs, and kudos to the author for taking the time to draw the details for designs on their nails. Overall this was a really good read and I really loved this manga, I will definitely be reading more of this author's works, and I highly recommend this to any BL reader!!!

Uemura-kun ha Majime na Iiko

Complete | megane | 2018 released

I didn't realize the author for this also wrote Wotakoi: Love is hard for an otaku I am SCREAMINGGGGG. The overall concept for this story wasn't bad, it wasn't too cliche and I really liked it. I also really liked the dynamic of the characters, and while the troupe of the uke being the oldest isn't my favorite I didn't mind it in this manga. Also, can we give some kudos to the author and seme because that aftercare and the way the main characters interacted together was soooo sweet!!! Overall this was a good read!!!
