Dead White
Despite me still not knowing what exactly happened in the end even though I read this almost 10 times, I have to say this was so beautiful for a one-shot. I loved the dialogue and art, and though I would love more context for EVERYTHING, this was very well done.
Itoshi no Mirai-kun
This wasn't a bad read by any means but this is definitely not my favorite work from this author, I like this author's writings because they always come up with unique plots, and give depth to their stories. However, for this manga, I think they tried to force too much conflict on the main character for entertainment purposes yet they didn't fully resolve it to give the story and character full closure. While I can see these events being somewhat realistic and I love how the author portrayed the feelings of the main character's, I disliked how the author depicted the main character getting abused and used as a character trait to make him "innocent" and "stupid". While the main characters are ultimately endgame there was no proper character development for the uke and there were too many unresolved problems from the main conflicts that made the story feel incomplete I did however like the art because the author has a unique art style and I love the way they draw their characters. Overall the wasn't a bad read but this is not one of my favorite works from this author.
Kimi ni Ienai Koto ga Aru
This hurt in all the right ways!!! I adored the main characters and loved how real this felt. This manga addresses real problems anyone in love has dealt with, the way the author portrayed their insecurities made this resonate with me even more. I absolutely loved the characters and the plot was super interesting, this is definitely a good read to get you into the feels, the art is also VERY beautiful and well done!!!
Smoky Nectar
This was so well done, I really REALLY enjoyed reading this one. I saw someone comment that this is like an omegaverse except with vampires and that just made me think "Wow no wonder I liked this so much" (I am such a whore for omegaverse manga if they are done right, and I absolutely love fated pairs/"you are the only one for me stuff" I eat that shit up). This is one of the first manga by this author I've read and I am super impressed by this one. The plot overall was really interesting and well done for only 5 chapters. I loved the storyline and I think the author did a great job of introducing the characters and the main conflict while keeping a somewhat clear/understandable pacing. The overall chemistry and dynamic of the main characters were really sweet and I loved seeing their interactions. And I cannot stress this enough but THE ART!!! I love the art style from the character designs to the proportions and the fight scenes!!!! The author's art style is really unique and I love all the intimate scenes. Overall this was a really good read and I am so glad I picked this up, I also highly recommend this to all the fantasy BL lovers!!!
