Father Complex(Shu)
This was unexpectedly good. The title was giving off warning sirens but Rocco came through with an actual responsible adult decision and decided to not be impulsive and wait for Liam even if he caught feelings as well. I saw that this is uploaded on webtoon where it's colored and there's Julien's story as well. Honestly, I feel bad for him because he does love Liam a lot but what can we do when the other party doesn't feel the same. Personally, I like Liam's personality where he clearly draws the line, no holes barred, on people who confess to him because in my opinion it's more cruel to do it gently and give them the wrong idea to keep holding on. Very short story but pretty good as well in terms of how the two leads' development. I also loved the whole situation with the bestie Stef, good for her for finding her boo as well. A surprisingly green flag plot (delusions were smth tho) for a clearly red flag sounding title.
It's My Baby!
I have mixed feelings for this one, we'll separate the review between S1 and S2 because the story telling was different for each brother's story. First we have Hesoo and Dogun where it's the typical dominant alpha/recessive omega dynamic. They had a one night stand, the omega has trauma from past relationship so he runs away, he ends up pregnant but because of said trauma he decides to lie about his whereabouts and caused a string of misunderstandings to form. My gripe from this one is how it felt as if I was riding a bullet train from the way the plot was moving. Dogun isn't a bad ML so that's the good thing, but we didn't really get to experience development properly between the leads so I don't feel attached to these two even though they're the main couple, the only thing that kept me going were the children. Second, we have Haejun (Hesoo's younger bro) and Taeho wherein there's a dominant alpha/beta dynamic. What left a bad taste in my mouth for this one is how shallow Taeho's love seemed for Haejun because he was like a switch that flipped after finding out about his mistake. Maybe it would've been better if he was already gravitating towards Haejun even though he was thinking that Hesoo was the hyung he was looking for, but he was rude to Haejun and that sex where he was calling Hesoo as they did it was so bad. The only redeeming quality this story had for me was the fact that we saw more development in this couple compared to the main couple. HOWEVER, when I was finally ready to digest the relationship, that special chapter came and ruined it. No, it's not the fact that Haejun turned into an omega that turned me off because I already expected that from all the cliché things that we've seen so far. What ruined it for me was that Haejun bled from the sex during Taeho's rut. I hated that so much. Now, it's not as if this story was bad per se. There were things that I liked, especially the relationship between each characters. It was pretty cute, you just need to turn off your brain for some parts but other than that it's pretty decent.
You and I can't do this
This is peak healthy relationship right here. What I loved most about this was Hyun-woo's actions even before they defined the relationship as something more than just a hookup. From the get-go he was already quite the gentleman with the small gestures he does for Young-won. He's so funny because he kept saying he's not boyfriend material after all that too. If I was Young-won I would've fallen hard too tbh. The start was hilarious with the bickering between our two leads. Young-won was introduced as a hopeless romantic type where he has this clear idea of a perfect romance that he wants to have. Meanwhile Hyun-woo is a realist and somehow just goes with the flow as his relationships developed. Both of them had such distinct personalities, which made the reading experience so much better. I was anxiously anticipating which one of them would fall first after the no-strings-attached setup happened, but it seems like both of them fell at the same time (which is a surprise since I thought Young-won would be first). Hyun-woo turned out to be more of a cinnamon roll green flag than we could ever ask for, he's seriously such a good partner for Young-won after all the trauma he experienced from past relationships. Wish we could've seen the wedding though. I absolutely loved the narrative this story painted to us readers. I felt like we were able to explore how their relationship developed and the things that changed for the better for the both of them after they became official. Honestly, I don't do enemies to lovers troupe that much but this one was so good I'm thinking I should explore that troupe more. This was funny, felt realistic, has SexEd along the way, the leads actually communicate and are always honest with each other (just a healthy relationship in general), and had a lovely conclusion. That last panel with both of them smiling so happily made me all warm and fuzzy inside. It's definitely up there as one of the best BLs I've ever read.
No Love Zone Webtoon
It's not phenomenal, but it's good to read if you don't have anything else. The art is nice and character designs are very good (especially Eunkyum's friend lol). To be honest Jihyuk (top) was such a douche and immature bastard in the earlier part of the story. He held a grudge for something stupid that Eunkyum (bottom) said to him 10 years ago when they were teens and decided to get revenge using petty ways like abusing his position as someone higher up in the company. He also raped Eunkyum (drunk sex) and had dub-con intercourse multiple times with the bottom saying 'No' and him just basically saying 'Nah, bro ik you like it' resulting to Eunkyum either blacking out or just crying from too much stimulation. It got cute later on but Jihyuk made me very uncomfortable a lot of times during nsfw scenes. Their bickering is pretty entertaining and Eunkyum's siblings are adorable so that's a plus for this story.
Love Tractor
Another story to remind me how painfully single I am (lol). On a serious note though, this was really good. We could see the growth in Yool, with regards to recovering from trauma and finding himself again before going into a commitment with his partner. While Yechan patiently waited and found the path he wants to take as an adult because he took inspiration from Yool's passion. The two of them complement each other in many different aspects to the point that they feel so perfect for each other. Regarding the story development, I like that Insuh became this older brother character after all was said and done. Thinking that Insuh and Yool's relationship was more of a right people but wrong time situation makes sense to me. Although some things in Insuh's POV rubbed me off the wrong way, ultimately I believe the real villain here is Yool's dad. Thankfully his mom and sister are super suportive, the same can also be said about Yechan's parents. Overall this is a fluff story through and through, though we have some very censored spicy scenes (which doesn't make it any less hotter btw... cuz buff uke yk). Seeing the journey of the leads from bickering, growing onto each other, then eventually being in a healthy relationship looking extremely content made me all warm inside making this so much worth the read.
Wait in Bed Tonight
This is so cute honestly. A lot of reviews say that they were bothered by the size difference, but honestly isn't this height gap normal for straight relationships? Haruta doesn't really have that typical naive/timid personality that usual written ukes have, so I never saw him as someone that's below the age of consent. Kagetora is such a green flag as well. No rape, we see consent, seme is extra careful with intercourse evident during their foreplays (since his whole thing about refusing Haruta's advances revolves around how he's scared he'd hurt him during penetration due to his size), and it's just very wholesome in general. The smut is hot too.
First Night With My Beloved
So cute!!! Daiki used to sleep around a lot before meeting Kanato, but he changed for the better and their relationship is so nice. Both of them learned from the other about what it means to be inlove and grew from that to become better versions of themselves.
Koishite kissshite kanjaitai
Akihiro and Reiya are both so cute QwQ This is probably the most peaceful and wholesome omegaverse I've ever read. They both just genuinely love each other, so I find the balance between horny and romance just right. I also like the fact that no matter how horny they were, they'd still have enough sense to wait until they're able to practice protected sex. The only time Reiya gave in to doing it raw is after they've gotten married and it was Akihiro that initiated it. Everything about this story is just so nice, even with all the great smut I still felt so fluffy inside from how inlove the leads are with each other.
BL in the Dungeon?!
A very straightforward story, there's not much substance to it provided that it is quite short. Gave me a few good laughs though, both the leads are funny and likeable.
