Obscura
After ''Walk on Water'', this is my next favorite. Finally a manga where the couple breaks up not because of another love interest or cheating but because of their own feelings not measuring up to their relationship and not only that but the characters are well thought and played out. Jeonghan ended his relationship because the only reason he was in a relationship in the first place was because he loved the other person knowing he didn't love him back as much. He hoped that would change at the beginning but it didn't happen and he also felt miserable about how things went down with his family, himself as a person and his studies cause he wasn't as good. He lost his self-esteem and he had always kept quiet about his relationship. Being in a relationship while trying to be the perfect person in order to not lose his lover became very vexing. It was his first and only relationship and it lasted for 8 years. At that point he didn't have the experience or mind to deal with things as he should. Gyu-Tae was in love with him but knowing he was in a relationship with Kangwoo, he never did anything, but when the chance arrived after they had broken up, he went for the kill. Just a piece of advice for people who may relate to Jeonghan and his whole running away from his emotions, as long as you take responsibility for your actions and own up to what you did wrong you can’t end up like him. Even if you can only admit it to yourself that what you did was wrong you’ll be fine. My biggest issue with him is that he was feeling insecure about his relationship and instead of telling Kangwoo he wasn’t feeling loved he decided to break up with him. Not only was Kangwoo blindsided by the sudden break up, he learned that Jeonghan didn’t think he loved him. Kangwoo was able to admit that he could’ve done more but Jeonghan has yet to admit how poorly he dealt with their relationship and everything he did wrong even after deciding to not run away. Sure he said he was sorry but for what?? Hurting him?? That’s not the only thing he should be sorry about. What felt unreal for me was Gyu-Tae's transition to being a good guy and being open about everything. Someone with his character shouldn't have been able to do that right away. I did enjoy how they got back together though. I was waiting for the sidestory on Kangwoo and boy, was I surprised. I like Alexander already even if it's early on. I can't wait to see more of them and how they develop.
