Every chapter made me smile uncontrollably. It’s very funny. The plot is nice and decent for 17 chapters but I wanted to see more character development. One more explicit make out scene for them - at least their first time would have been nice, cause it suddenly came to 3 months of them trying out in order to date, though the scene was funny when he realized its been 3 months. The ending also feels incomplete and the uncle showed up in like what (?) one chapter?

The novel by Charlie Cochet is called thirds series. There are total 10 volumes of this. The first vol is high and hell water. The second one is called blood and thunder and so on... "Against the Grain" explores the romance between Cael Maddock and Ash, and there's also another one called "Catch the Tiger by Tails" and its about the Calvin and Hobbes' relationship.

Okay I don't know if it's the original writing or if it's the translator's fault, but the writing of this manga just seemed super clunky to me. It's like how they say "show, don't tell" except it was ALL TELL. Like I dunno. It's the type of writing you'd see if the author wants to establish a setting. For example: It's like a guy goin "Hey there Matt! I haven't seen you since the apocalypse started 5 years ago, wiping out most of the human population and leaving its survivors to rebuild. Are you still with your beautiful wife Claire who was your childhood love? Seriously. This is how it felt reading this manga for me. Too much telling, not enough showing. The character's WHOOSH through all their motivations and feelings in one page of dialogue and it feels unnatural. It made it even weirder in the sex scenes cuz it just feels like people sitting there discussing their preferences over tea. "I see you like it when I touch you over here." "Yes, it turns me on." "Yes, I can tell from your voice. Hearing you turned on, turns me on. Very nice" "Quite." Let us all just quietly admire this beautiful line: "My dick? My dick is like deerskin. It's durable and warm... And mature." (▰˘◡˘▰) (don't mind tears in my eyes, I'm just getting a little bit emotional over here)

I came here after watching the two seasons of the anime. Hope there's a new season soon too. The anime is not based on Manga but Light Novel Version. That's why the animation style is not same as Manga but accurate as LN illustration of Lord Shadow. The Eminence in Shadow got Anime adaptation because of the Light Novel and not Manga version. The reason why you see there are differences between Anime and Manga because it cover mostly from Light Novel. So far, the season is up to Volume 3. From Volume 4 and onwards, the Light Novel will differ from it's Web Novel version. In LN, Cid was adaptational heroism where he maintains his idiot hero persona while in WN, his actions during the Great Trading Company received many criticisms from Readers. Thus, it is unsure which Direction, Manga will take on. Latest Volume is 7 in Japan. I read up to Vol 6 (Jack Ripper Arc).
