So... the story starts out with the uke being basically an asshat of a player boss (Takumi), and the seme being this passive aggressive introvert (Ryo). However, due to a company drinking event that ends with the asshat deciding to take everyone to a brothel (srsly?!?) and Ryo just up and leaves, the alcohol makes Takumi feel forced as a boss to try and help Ryo ”get over his hatred for women” by talking about it.
It ends with Ryo getting so pissed that he forces himself on Takumi, who passes out. As a cherry on top, Ryo puts on Takumi’s girlfriend’s lipstick and places a big one on Takumi’s chest.
Takumi’s girlfriend leaves him.
Naturally.
And Takumi can’t sort out his feelings about it all afterwards, and this is the hardest part in the story for me. After a bunch of drama, Ryo and Takumi do get together, and they even learn to communicate and grow as a couple - even to the point of coming out at the office as an official couple! (The whole ”our company guidelines don”t say anything about coworkers not being able to date”) And their coworkers accept it, even of they’re weird about it at first.
I’m giving it 5 stars because it does present some realistic charachter growth and reflection about it, as well as portraying smart modern people in an office, even if there’s tons of drama.
I really liked it. I’d like to buy it on Renta. Also, one of the side characters is a transwoman.
