Others describe this as as a toxic relationship, but the unreliable narrative in combination with how they both act with one another (no hard violence, only ever forceful sex that may in fact be consensual ~90% of the time) makes it for a compelling story. The seme has anxiety in regards to the uke, and tries to cope by submissive behavior. The uke is rejection sensitive but still wishes to be spoiled rotten and be lovey-dovey with the seme.
